My first real flash site, looking for comments and critiques, I'd like to improve for future sites. Pull no punches good sirs/madams, I've just graduated art school, I've been critiqued enough for ten child beauty contestants! HUZZAH!

I like the main part of the site. However, lose the intro. It does nothing for the site. Also, I understand why you have the menu raise up to make room for sublinks, however, it's kinda frusterating when you go click on a link and it moves away. I think it would be more user-friendly if the menu stayed up. Good job. :thumb:

I agree that the intro is not necessary and ever a bit ugly (a little old school ipod'ish).
The site would work just as well, if not beter as a html/css site. is there any reason you made it totally in flash?

HAHA! You know, I wish I could lose the intro, it is ugly as sin. But that's client's thing, I got handed a print ad with those colors and figures, and that awful picture of the conductor making that awful face. You have no idea how much I resent that dumb thing.
As for the html/css thing, that was a mixture of bad communication and my novice-ness. The first draft was CSS.
keep em coming, i'll take any and all comments/critique.

The bevels are too strong, and the typography makes the content get lost in the design.
That being said, it's nicely structured, it just needs some TLC as far as the design goes.

TLC? table ladders chairs?:P
why not just modify the effects on the intro then?

yeah, looks quite nice, i agree on the intro thingie... lose it... and well Adam has a point there... i don't feel that this site needs to be full flash... it would look/work much better in HTML with some nice CSS.... but ehh, it's your choice :) Good job anyways !

Much thanks to all that have commented! Very appreciated.

Not sure what "bevel" is referring to, and if you could explain some problems you see with the design. I def appreciate the crit, the vagueness makes my brains itch.
-About the intro, I really didn't know what to do with it, I was stuck with the colors and the graphics and I just had to apply it somehow. On top of that I didn't get too much time to do it. Is there any effect that may have worked a bit better?
And we feel the pain of making a full flash site more and more every day. Especially since we don't have anyone in the company that's proficient in Action Script. Lessons learned the hard way... *sigh
