I was wondering if anyone knew how to change the animations in the Flash interface. On Vista whenever I change levels (Double-clicking on a MovieClip, Button, Graphic, etc.) it shows this animation of a selection widening until it's the size of the screen then it goes away; the problem is on Vista, it goes really, really slow, agonizingly slow. I was wondering if anyone knew how to change some configuration file or core file to fix this? Thanks! :D

If you right click on the EXE, select Compatibility, and check the box for "Disable desktop composition", it should work. That disables Glass for the entire system, which Fireworks 8 does automatically actually. Not sure why Flash 8 doesn't work that way also, but I've stopped using Edit in Place because of that lag!
I've heard mixed reports on whether Adobe plans to release or not release Vista updates (http://www.downloadsquad.com/2007/03/20/adobe-says-no-way-to-vista-updates/), and Adobe has a Vista compatibility chart (http://www.adobe.com/support/products/pdfs/adobe_products_and_windows_vista.pdf) that provides some more info. Not sure which is accurate, but with CS3 around the corner, some of the minor issues such as what you mention probably have lower priority :hat:

server 03 ftw! has the backend upgrades and it still works the same one the front!, but yes flash does do this, but if you turn off the dumb ram hogging glass effects, it runs much better.

sorry about the double post, when you just post something, and then firefox crashes, it comes back with the same page, except it doesn't show your post, so i thought i didn't submit it, sorry about that once again

Thanks kirupa! :D I'm going to try that right now.
EDIT: It works perfectly, thanks again.

Sorry about the dumb question, can you please clarify: what EXE file?
Many thanks

In the Flash folder in the Macromedia folder in the Program Files folder. ;) Flash.exe is the compiled executable file. Flash.exe is Flash.

I made a mistake when I said you have to right click on the EXE. You can do that, but an easier way (and what I meant to say earlier) is that you can right click on the EXE's shortcut (like in your Start menu) and change the Properties from there :)

Yeah, but I don't like right clicking on things in the Start menu. I must have had some traumatic experience with that when I was a little wee kid. :|
