Pointless piece of spam, but what the heck? For anyone who likes indie music. :)

How indie are you? test by ridethefader
You're just too cool for school, aren't you? You're pretty narrow minded
and opinionated with regards to music (and probably most other things
as well). But you're allowed to be, because you really are better
than everyone else. You take pride in obscurity.
You probably prefer vinyl too, you elitist *****.
You are so indie it hurts. You hang out with the coolest people in your city. It doesn't even bother
you that none of them know your name. You know lots of bands personally, you know a couple of
guys from We Hate The Mainstream Records, and you blag your way into getting almost
everything for free. That fanzine you write gives you extra kudos. You probably don't
even care that non-scenesters think you're a pretentious ****.

crap. I don't like being defined like this.
You're really enthusiastic about the music that you like. You attempt to discover your new favourite
band every week. You continually try to get your friends into the music you like, which annoys the **** out of them, but you don't know it. At least you're not arrogant about it.

god... that's so true :beam:
Who are you trying to fool? Just because you own a couple of Weezer albums
doesn't mean that you're uberindie. Indie people don't hear about cutting edge
new bands from MTV. At least the ignorant don't know what they're missing...

...i never expected to be.

I don't think mine was really too accurate. I'm more like Kit's. Indie snob. I think I'm cool but in my heart of hearts I know.....

Heh, but mine says that I am cool. :)

And what's this I hear about Evanescence being #1 in the chart? Doesn't that go against every principle of indie music? :P

Of course you are, of course you are. :)

............snob.....

Although I will admit to being irritated when a band I like gets a hit.
It really got out of control with the Frames. Now I can barely listen to them.

I've noticed that the bands I like tend to have albums that sell well rather than singles. They aren't just one hit wonders. :)

With a few notable exceptions. :P Anyone remember Rialto? :)

No actually.
Yeah. It's tormenting when a band you were listening to solidly 6 months ago turns up all over your local "alternative" radio show. Next thing the girl in front of you on the bus is singing one of their songs.

This test is crap. Im more punk than indie! Is there a punk test anywhere?

PierceG

Indie is a state of mind, not a type of music. So indies will have you believe anyway.
So is punk I suppose.

TheOrangeOne

hmm, good answer.:thumb:

I hate it when people try to categorize me anyway. All the kids in my area call me a 'goth' cos my hair is red. The people at work call me a punk cos i wear a denim jacket with patches on it. That stupid test think im indie because i read 'Q' and love cartoon network. And my mates call me a geek becuause i know how to use a computer.

grrr, i just want to be different (like everyone else).
