So i need to make a vector image but i don't have illustrator on this machine. How can i make it in photoshop so when i take it to the printer it opens as a vector?

Thanks

use PS's 'export paths to illustrator' function

however you cannot achieve complex vector operations with this option (I doubt you can export color but I'm not entirely sure)

Do PDF's save actual vector info? That could potentially work.

I think that could work but it would have to be simple paths as I would imagine it. Ma I ask why they need to open as a vector? If you use either a high res or low res but larger size that should offer some wiggle room on adjustments.

Never heard of this issue from a pronter before I must say.

pdf retain the vector information in photoshop as long as they are the raw shapes/text. Test out a PDF by saving out to it then in the pdf zoom in.. it will be obvious to see if it worked or not.

... i agree with DDD why would a printer want vectors? and @ dark ^ shhoooshh smart-bum :P

^ to make it larger.

And last time I was at Adobe's website they have a free trial of Illustrator.
