Hey kids! Are you getting harassed at school because you are computer geeks who like surfing Kirupa better than playing football?
Remember, Bruce Banner was a geek to, and then he became the Mighty Hulk because he had a geek job involving complicated stuff.
The next time those nasty kids come around to beat the living daylights out of you. just show them this badge, and tell them that they better watch out when you become a horrible green thing thanks to the radiation you get in your geek job. :)
Err... Okay, so maybe I've been sitting by this computer too long...
Anyway... New vector thing. :)

Thanks you guys. :)
XXVIII (28?): I guess what you see as the shoulders are the biceps. He's sort of hunching his shoulders up, so the area between the head and the bicep is the shoulder...
Or that's how I see it, anyway. :)

mdipi: I want you to listen very carefully now: Get yourself Illustrator!
It's friggin great. :) And you can make graphics for flash in it that adds almost no bytes at all to the filesize beacause Flash utilizes vectors as well.

Guys. Vector isn't really difficult. Look at it. It's completely clean areas of color. I'm betting what you dread is the Pen. The Bezier curves, right? It just takes a wee bit of traning and you'll be all set up, because once you understand the pen, vectors are your friends. :)

There, there... The pen is your friend. The pen wants what's best for you. The pen will take care of you. Listen to the pen. Niiiiice pen. Mmmmm... Create yummy crisp vectors-Pen. Mmmmmm...

haha that's cool, that's how the Hulk would look like if he was a guest on Dextor's Laboratory or the Power Puff Girls. :P

Yup. :)
And guys... One more bit of motivation for you to learn vectors. As flash guys, you'll see the benefit here. :)
I just exported the image from Illustrator and saved it as a swf for my portfolio. The filesize was 6 kb, and then it acts like an ordinary group of shapes in flash and can be converted to a MC or Graphic symbol for further fun. Try that on with a bitmap. ;)

there's nothing wrong with freehand anyway, because it's still vector, it's just that a lot of people believe Illy is the best...
and i really like the pic too :), you've chosen a good angle to work from

The pen is alright when you get the hang of it. :) I've found that Illustrator is better for drawing some styles because of the range of brushes you have. But I still like drawing in Flash for some things.
Nice work, very clean and sharp. :)

I believe the difference between Illustrator and Freehand to be a matter of personal discretion. I own both applications but while I use Illustrator for **** near everything (Mock-ups, design elements, flashgraphics, illustrations) I hardly ever open Freehand. It's probably just a matter of what you get used to.
I hate drawing in flash. I can never get things the way I want them (Unless what I want is a rectangle.) and it's pen tools confuse me. :) I'm very happy about using the Illustrator/Flash Combo though.

The strange thing is that when I draw in Illustrator I use the Pen tool with the tapered brushes, which is great. But when I draw in Flash, I never use the Pen, but stick with the Line tool instead, and curve them. I have no idea why this should be.
But you can get some pretty good effects with Flash, especially if you fill in then delete all the lines. This is one that I did with it a while ago. It's an oldie, but still turned out OK.

I tried recreating that with Illustrator, but failed abysmally. So if anyone else wants to try, then go for it. :)

Please do. :)
I couldn't get it to look as nice with llustrator, Flash produced a much better effect. But I'd like to see if you can manage it - I freely confess I'm pretty poor with Illustrator. :)
I really like the style of your drawing though, as someone pointed out, it's very Dexter's Lab. :) I like it, it works well with the character. :)
