Normally I hate it when people do this because it seems very futile and just...not nice, but there is a forum for this called Computer Game and Tech or something.

Never played it, too violent nasty etc. I'm a good ole holy roller I guess so not my thing.

I can't wait to see the style of the game, what the city looks like on a next-gen machine. I don't plan on buying it before it goes on sale. Though I'll follow it closely, it IS a big title after all.

Fantastic series. I cant wait for a bigger and better world on the next-gen consoles.

san andreas is just one of the best games i've ever played ... though i prefer the vice city setting more than that strange gansta style ... i'm really looking forward to gta iv , hoping there will be a pc version ... and a better setting/story ...

I used to love GTA. Until I play Saints Row. Which is 100 times better. I am curious to see if they will out-do Saints Row with GTA 4.

Saints Row is terrible, really didn't enjoy that game at all. On the other hand GTA SA is a fantastic game. Terrible story and setting but so vast and fast that its worth putting up with the bad story.

Saints Row blows San Andreas out of the water dude. The graphics, the gameplay, all better. The only thing SA has over SR is motorcycles, and airplanes. The "vastness" you talk about is the thing that pissed me off about the game. All those damn missions where you have to drive for literally 20 - 30 minutes just to get somewhere that makes you drive another 20 - 30 mins. If I wanted to just drive around I'd buy a racing game.

I am a sandbox kinda gamer, and I own all the copycats and the only one I found that is better than San Andreas is Crackdown... Which is hard to compare together, but looking at them as both sandbox games, Crackdown was better, but GTA IV will be amazing!

Just the scale of the world in GTAIV seems ridiculous. I can't wait.

GTA is cool but it gets boring after a while. I've played most of the games, but never finished them, because it gets really repetitive.

paddy.

The reason Crackdown is so good is because the studio behind it, Realtime Worlds, is run by David Jones, the creator of GTA.

More on topic, I can't wait for GTA IV. San Andreas is still probably my all time favourite game and I have racked up over 120 hours of play on it. I know because the game keeps track.

Saints Row is a great game. It steals liberally and without shame from GTA but it does it very well. What I don't like about it, and why I think GTA will always be better, is it had no character. There have been no moments so far in SR that have made me laugh out loud the way GTA made me. Rockstar truly excel at script writing and character design.

Also in SR, the city is incredibly bland, unlike SA in which there is a huge variety of terrain, like cities, towns, farms, freeways, mountains, dirt trails and forests.

Saints Row does improve on GTA in one major respect. The shooting mechanism used in SR is far superior to the somewhat unpredictable lock-on system in GTA, which, incidentally, is also one of the major flaws in Crackdown. Other than this, however, I think of SR as a stand-in, to give me my GTA fix while I'm waiting for the next one.

So, that aside, has anyone heard any juicy rumours about GTA IV? I know our friends at Rockstar are notoriously tight-lipped but what's the buzz on the forums?

Fantastic series. I cant wait for a bigger and better world on the next-gen consoles.I'd rather have it the same size as San Andreas but allow me to go into a lot of buildings and improve the AI.

I know our friends at Rockstar are notoriously tight-lipped but what's the buzz on the forums? Some people (including myself) are thinking it may be an MMO with the single-player campaign somehow mixed in there. Regardless, it's on my list of games to own. :cop:

You're the first person I meet that haven't heard about GTA :D

I've fallen behind on GTA. I played GTA 3, but then I started playing MMORPGs and regular RPGs, so I never got Vice City and San Andreas. I borrowed Vice City from a friend though, and I've played San Andreas on ps2 at a friends house, they're both great! It's a real pain to aim in ps2 btw :tired:

I'll probably get IV, but it's gonna take a while. Unless someone I know buy it. Then I'm borrowing it instead, and save the money. ;)

I haven't really played any of the games for an extended amount of time, as I haven't ever owned one, but I always found it fun to convince the police to chase me (and then find a way to run away/survive).

I fought the cops off in San Andreas for an hour and a half once! No cheats, made it to 6 stars before they got me.

Funny I loves gaming but I've never played any of the GTA series. It's one of those games my wife absolutly doesn't want me to play around my kids. Heck most Xbox games can't be played in front of a ten year old, or at least one as sweet and caring as my kid.

I had to settle for Crackdown to get a similar feel.
