Its kinda pointless we all know theyre gonna answer yes they don't want to accpet that their purchase was not worth 600 smackers.
I think only people who have 2 or all 3 new consoles should answer and tell you their opinion on what they play the most and why.
its just kinda disrespecting asking them if their purchase was worth it.

It all depends on how much your money means to you and how much you have.

I think its pretty clear to most of us at this point that while the PS3 is a beast of a machine, the Xbox is too and is more 'bang for your buck'. That being said, I don't own a PS3, but I've played with it extensively because one of my buddies owns one.

If you wait a year or so?

Everyone is saying to wait, wait wait, wait some more, but if something isn't fundamentally a good product, like at its base launch, then there's only so much higher it can go.

Go to Best Buy or another store with a PS3 on display, play with it, and see if you like it. Better yet, try a friend's PS3 at his/her place to avoid the lines! :panda:

I tried a ps3 at our local blockbuster. I'll be getting one sooner or later. I don't mind the price, seeing as I can just get another freelance job and get it then.
However, the range of games are slim to none here. The only games I'd consider are VF5 and Motorstorm. Most of the other games are out for the 360, and currently owned :)
With the prospect of DM4 and *hopefully* FFXIII coming to the 360, It's gonna be a while before the range of games can validate an 8-900$ spree (yes, that's how much WE get to pay for it... lucky huh...)
*edit*
954$ with the current value of the dollar.

if you are planning to make a folding@home cluster, then yes, it's worth it;)

With my brand new 54 inch Sharp AQUOS, Blue Ray is amazing. The games are fun and great quality, just a tad expensive>.< but if you can afford it, it is heaven:beam:

Donating money directly to the research would probably be more beneficial to the project…

my 360, with hd-dvd drive, on my 1080p Mitsubishi 74inch looks amazing too :trout: ... it's even cheaper to buy a 360 and hd-dvd drive than a ps3 :)

^ Toss in the 100 dollar WiFi adapter and you're not doing so hot.

Who buys the wifi adapter? I could have but I just decided to run a 25 ft cable instead... lol
And I don't see any need for the HD-DVD drive. That is a battle that should not be decided by game consoles.
