Hello guys!
I don't know if this has been talked about before but I thought I'd make a new topic (aka I'm to lazy to search)
My question is about todays search engines and how I shall "boost" my site.
Meta tags is dead afaik and now the search engines looking for plain text and use that instead. So i thought about writing alot of keywords and place them in a hidden div but im unsure if it really works.
If there any tips or trix that you guys know about, please share them I appreciate it alot!

Nah, usually if you try to cheat search engines (placing them in hidden divs, etc.) they will find that and then punish you for it. As far as I know, Google is not currently crawling css code, but I think search engines can still see a difference between relevant text and a bunch of keywords in one div.
The way to boost your site is first to have semantic markup, lots or relevant content, clean URLs that possibly have keywords in them (a tutorial from me about clean URLs will be on the front page shortly) and as many backlinks to your site as possible. Add your site to pages like technorati and also to web directories and such.
In short, search engines are smart these days, so there's really no magic trick to place first in them.

Yeah, there's not really a way to 'fool' search engines, they mostly go on how many other people link to your site.
