This is for a case study I'm working on. I'm basically designing a corporate image for a fake car company. So far, this is the logo I've come up with. It's all done in photoshop, but it'll be recreated in 3ds and fully rendered out. So basically it's in the wip stage :D.

Hmm, It doesnt make me think "car", and the overlap of text on the logo seems a little odd. hmmm, *awaits simp's advice*

It's the logo that's on the front of the car grils. Kinda like the honda logos, toyota, infiniti, cadi's, etc.

AAhhh. the geometric kind. I think making the proportions more uniform will make it more visually balanced.

It reminds me of the Batman symbol. And I still think you need to change the company name.

first, its gonna look really odd if hte bg symbol isnt connected, it looks too weird, second, there should be no overlapping on logos like that

too complex for a car logo. think of toyota (I love this logo)... Lexus, Honda, etc, they are all very simple. If you got rid of the Knightline and just had the round shapes, I think it'd look a lot better as a car logo.
also ... most car logos are usually rounded and sleek... aerodynamic, you know?
good start though

well, the first thing you need to consider when making a logo is that the people who will use must be able to resize it and keep it's quality... that means, NO GLOW, NO SHADOW. I really don't like it, too much glow, bad color combos, text looks bad, the whole logo is kinda weird... And as darkmotion pointed out, the logo doesn't make me think "car"...
Use vectors for logos, because you can resize them and keep quality, make it sleep, make it all black, or combine few colors but NEVER use gradients... and get a better font...

Adding to that, you won't want to even consider making it 3d at the moment, because it still needs refinement, and car logos are never ( I could be wrong) 3d in form.

^i'm agreeing with that. i just assumed that the logo was already applied on the car and was bluish chrome:P

#10. Well, you know Mercedes. They have this grill-figure, I guess thats why want to create it in 3D (I could be wrong ;) )

In school they taught me that a logo needs to scale down to a business card and work with black and white.. which I think your logo, without the type, would do nicely!
But contrary to previous posts, I think that most car logos are usually presented in some 3d format... but they also work totally flat.

This logo's actually just the concept for the entire marketing thing. The text isn't going to be in the final logo, but it's just there as a guide for the overall theme. The next step is to make a line of cars, the full commercial production, and the website.
And mind you, this is all in the beginning stages, so thanks for the crits :D.

I was referring to visual presentation, not the 3d form itself, i.e. they take the 2d form and just whack some extrusion and beveling on it.
