portfolio problem - thumbnails all taking on the same code

I used the knowledge behind the infinite menu to build a portfolio with scrolling thumbnails. The first hurdle i had to over come was how to load up a frame while in a movie many layers below. If that makes sense, easy for you guys but I'm still learning.

Now ive come across a new problem just as i thought id done it. When i change the code on one thumbnail they all change. Ive tried putting them all in a different layers but this doesn't work. Could you lend me a helping hand?

placing the thumbnails in a different layers doesn't duplicate new instances of the thumbnails so duplicate the symbols and make sure that you have a different instance of the symbol in each layer.
