I was so surprised with the outcome of this little thing I made I thought I'd put it up here so people could use it if they wanted to. Comment if you wish, but please don't tell me I suck at life [nods to fasterthanlight]
Oh what is it - it's a loader screen with vector-art gears spinning. File and pic attached. Enjoy (or don't).

hehe cool I like it :)
ONe thing I've always wondered, is how do you tween an object to make it look like it's rotating?
Care to elaborate on how you made the gears spin? I see that there was 4 layers and one extra layer with a tween. But I'm still confused. :D

the only thing that spins is the background of the gear. I designed it originally with about 10 layers. Then I took the background layers and converted them to a movieclip. This was then put in place on frame 1 and on frame 20 I hit F6 to insert a new keyframe (not F7, which would insert a blank keyframe), rotated the thing 359 degrees, and converted the middle frames to a motion tween via the properties panel. No AS needed - it just runs (kinda like Macs - they just work) :) The gear in the middle was flipped horizontally via the transform panel so it would rotate in reverse (I didn't know it would work - I just tried it, haha)

What a great idea. Never thought of doing that. Hmmm - I could gank an old Quake texture... :)
