Is anybody interested in developing a simplified version of the lightbox area on this website.

http://www.magnumphotos.com

It is for a design production company as a way to promote their artists.

I have built the main site http://www.marmalademag.com/construction/magazine.html all i need are a log in area, and some way for the user to save images to their account so they can come back and see them later on.

It would start here http://www.marmalademag.com/construction/network.html

the user would have to log in and then be presented with this page

http://www.marmalademag.com/construction/network

They would then link to the relevant artist eg..

http://www.marmalademag.com/construction/network/artists/annie_collinge

then all i need is a way to save the artists images!!

If you could let me know any questions you might have and your fee i would be delighted to hear from you.

Greg

ps It has to be as simple as possible to update as the company want to do it themselves after i release it.

Hey Greg,

does the magnumphotos.com support php? I guess it's asp.net, right?

What you need is

- Control access
- Image upload and program to control the user operations (add, remove, edit, comments, etc)

That is it?

Thank you,
Kinow

I'm not sure how magnumphotos do it as I don't have any programing experience I'm afraid.

No one needs to be able to upload photos apart from the moderators. It is an area for their clients / potential investors to store the images they like from those already online and get in contact with the magazine with a view to hiring the artists they like.

If we could get a comments area where they could leave notes for themselves as well that would be great. And possibly a way of directly emailing the magazine with the images in their lightbox, that also would be great.

Hum, great project. What about the budget?

I was hoping around the £500 - £600 mark.

It's a nice budget. :)
But I don't know exactly the "size of the problem". Maybe working between £500 and £600?

What do you think?

I'm really sorry, I'm not sure exactly what you mean?

Do you want a more specific figure?

Or do you mean the size of the website?

No no, I'm sorry if I wasn't very clear about it. I mean that what you're asking to do, may be easier or harder to do than what we're thinking now, or you may need some extra stuff.

So we work with the budget of £500, that is a very nice budget. If we see that it will have a GREAT change, a new feature that demands a lot of work, we renegotiate.

Elsewhere, any little modification won't increase the project budget :) only a "monster modification", like add database, or do a new script out of the scope. By now, I believe you want a image cms, with features to add, remove pictures, members only area, comments in the pictures, etc.

We can do a great job. :sc:

Thanks for the fast reply.
