Yo dudes. I really dugg paddy's logo, but with my new site and style I don't think it really fits in anymore.
I can always think of something for someone else, but never for myself!
I was thinking of using the head of the bear from the crunchy wall paper (well simplified of course)
Got any groovy ideas?
:P simp and DDD! shoooooot!

I'm caught in the same predicament, where I can design stuff for all others, but can't think of anything for myself. But you should try the subconscious way to make your logo, just too see what your subconscious can create.
. Get a piece of paper, and a pencil
. Put the pencil into your non-writing-hand
. Close your eyes, and skrible on the paper with continuous lines, and a full chaotic manner.
. Look at the lines, and then fill in ANY shapes, patterns, anything.
. Assess the design, and see what your mind can come up with, and see if you can get inspired by something you created.

Start naming off objects that you feel portray Darkmotion and then give them to us... that way the designers arn't left in the "dark".

For what it's worth, that's a nice site. I would do something cartoony to match the rest of your site. Like a rocket ship or something.

OH yeah! A rocket ship might be awesome!!
I do indeed want to keep it cartoony, and bold enough to stand out.

personally, I never thought the name darkmotion suited you: your work is the exact opposite of dark and doesn't move.
I like the idea of a rocket ship, but i'd stay about from the traditional bloated cartoon version with shark fins for rocket fins. I like the idea of a nice little animal, you always seem to pull those off well. Maybe like an ultra-simplified stack of animals: a turtle on the head of a monkey sitting on the back of a giraffe!

I like the rocket idea. Maybe in a night sky -- partially silhouetted against a moon, maybe.

Hey thanks for the replies so far guys :D really helps!
I don't want my logo to be a cliché at all, but I still want to to be "logoey". I'm diggin the rocket thing, but I gotta figure out a nice way to execute it well. @ronnie- that seems like an awesome idea! I will give it a bash today :D

there was some logo I saw that mixed two types of the artist's characters together using negative space. something like that could be kinda fun to try out w/ your style.
on another note i really like how your drawing has progressed into what it is now... looks hot. sorta reminds me of david lanham.

:hugegrin:I'd be interested to see that that groovy logo looked like. I might even go for a silhouetted character as a logo- something simple?
:D and yeah hahah thanks! I really love lanham's work a lot :D There's also another dude called scott jackson on http://pixelgirlpresents.com who does some insanely awesome character art :D
