having your menu in flash doesn't add that much to the site for me. It's not exciting and I don't think it was worth making it flash. Makes me wonder if you're site should just be 100% XHTML/CSS.

As for the design it's fine, not great or interesting, just fine. It's not catching my eye or sticking in my head. It just doesn't do anything for me. I don't think it will make clients hire you which obviously was the point.

I've noticed this in a couple of sites recently where the designers print work is very impressive and their web work isn't. You have to try and take some of that from you're print work and capture it online.

I think you need to drop the whole site more into the centre of the browser. Add some animation to the menu, even just a small animation in the bottom corner of the nav. I think maybe adding a slight texture to the dark grey back would help and maybe introducing a 3rd colour, something bright like yellow or orange, would be a big help. I also think the generak interface needs to be bigger.

Can I also just say that in terms of your content if you're hoping to get clients with this site you need to be careful what you say. On the front page you have two messages that say

So it's been quite a week and I was almost able to keep the promise of uploading new content. I've uploaded about 70%

I'm really sorry for the downtime of 24hrs.

I'm a prospective client. This is your first impression on me, alrady you're apologising. I've never been to your site so I don't know you've only uploaded 70% of new content or that the site was down for a day so why tell me? Already I think you're unreliable and who told me this? you did. You need to be more positve with your content, sell yourself. Be positive and for gods sake don't apologise for things on your site.

Good luck :cool:

Back up again!

Like RabBell says - okay design, nothing bad as such. Agree with him about you being a bit too open with information. A portfolio is supposed to promote you, not excuse you!

What I don't like though (I know it's not your fault - but you need to take account of it in your designs) is having to click once on your flash menu to activate it then click again on the menu item I'm interested in. You really need to work round that as again it does not help promote/sell your skills.

website should be up again.. my host had some dns server issues to fix.

@RabBell:
I've made the menu with flash cause I wanted to have a lil bit animation on the site.
I might make a more interesting animation though. didn't have the time yet.
As for the webdesign: I haven't uploaded a lot in this section for now. Maybe you'll find the new stuff more interesting but that's personal taste.

As far as the news content is concerned: Totally agreed.. I'll try to consider that in the future.

@Cello:
I'm working on that IE problem as we speak ;)

cheers mike

Nice and clean - if I had more time I would give a better critque - but I've gotta get back to work! ;) ... my only quick comment is this - how does it set you aside from anyone else?

Very nice. Layout is cool - and your print work is especially impressive.

Why 'bloob' though? What is a 'bloob'? If I was a prospective client, I'd kind of be wondering that.

well it's actually an hommage to my favourite colour blue (bloo) and my lucky number (seven) don't know where the second b comes from.. sounded cool to me back in the days.. I already thought about changing the name to my propper name (michael nagy) but michael nagy design or something like that sounds kinda crappy imo.

dunno..
thanks for the comments so far
