Hey Mac Geeks  This question is for my mama. She has some kind of mac desktop. Don't ask me what kind or how old. She's had it long enough that it doesn't have a webcam built in. She now has a grandchild who lives in a PC house and she wants a webcam. The iSight is no longer being made because all new macs come with a built-in webcam. The ones on eBay are going for up to $250. But pc webcams can be bought for <$20.
So my question to you mac fans - what kind of webcam can my mama buy for her mac?
thanks much :hr:

Any kind of logitech should be good.

ya there are tons of third party webcam makers out there..
you gotta figure out what version of OS X she's running first, and buy the proper webcam that will run on a mac.

really? the logitech will work with a mac? does it require special software or whatever? can you suggest a model?
i forgot to mention that she dosn't want to have to use a headset so it needs a built in microphone?
fasterthanlight i will find out :) i'm just looking for suggestions from those that might already own one
thanks for the help!

most webcams might need some sort of software driver that needs to be installed.
