Ok, after the few days of lovely sun here in England, I'm now stuck in a thunder storm. This confirms that we have weird weather lol :P

Don't you think storms are cool? :thumb:

I think there's just something about thunder storms... As long as you don't stand under a tree or electric pylon, obviously. :sure:

It generally is warm when it happens though, I think. I know I'm baking at the moment. Got all the windows open even though it's chucking it. :)

Out of all the weather I have ever been through... rain is the best by far. I'm not too keen on thunder and lightning (have way too many trees in my garden) but the rain is the best. It's always so refreshing and what better way is there to get soaked? :).

[edit] And I think we should have a competition between who looks better wet: Kit or Asphalt :P [end of edit]

Tunbridge Wells is in Kent. :) About 15 miles from my house I think.

Oh no Thor!! You did indeed . But seriously...

I believe that Surrey is actually viewed as/said to be the wealthiest county in England :P.

In other matters: I don't think it is actually a Surrey thing to go for a run late at night. In reality, it's a JK thing :). I am what one might call a fool...

I do a load of exercise each day, every day and have done so for the last 2 - 3 years. I can't help it really - it's just a hobby but one which provides me with a 6-pack (over time), strong arms and a pretty fast sprint :bad:. If you were wondering: Yes, my friends do indeed think I am crazy.

And if you know any lovely ladies who would like to have a bath with me Starpromo, let me know :smirk:. But I stand by my previous statement - just being in the rain is refreshing.

Kitiara
June 2nd, 2003, 05:00 AM
Yeah... When I was back at University I used to have to walk in a couple of miles every day, then go for a few more miles run round a country park before each two hour dance class. Then there was using the Uni gym, Pilates classes, all that kind of thing.

I was absolutely bloody knackered. :P

JK87
June 2nd, 2003, 05:04 AM
You're either kidding, or you're insane. Possibly both :P.

That must've sucked big-time - even I couldn't do that much leg work every day for a few years; must've hurt a lot :-\.

Kitiara
June 2nd, 2003, 05:10 AM
And how. :sure:

Sadly I'm not kidding - the dance teacher I had was an absolute fitness freak, she made us do those runs round the park regardless. You wouldn't believe how many times I skived out of doing that and arrived just in time for the actual class bit. :P

JK87
June 2nd, 2003, 05:12 AM

Good luck with the exam JK. :) From what I remember of my GCSEs, Biology was the easiest one of the lot. Physics was the killer. :) Unless you've still got that one to do, in which case it was a walkover. :)

JK87
June 2nd, 2003, 05:38 AM
Heh...

I still have all my GCSEs to do except all of German, English literature and my French oral. I have 6 science exams (doing triple award), the rest of my French, 2 maths papers, 2 english language papers... etc. :). Lots of fun over the next three weeks :sigh:.

and thanks for the good luck - I'm gonna need it ;).

Kitiara
June 2nd, 2003, 05:40 AM
There's a triple award science now? Mine was only a double. :) At least Science was one of my best subjects. :)

Starpromo
June 2nd, 2003, 05:40 AM
Ive blocked all GCSE memories out of my head... i can't even remember what i got.

All i know is there was a few C's in there.

JK87
June 2nd, 2003, 05:42 AM
Yeah triple award science. Basically, you take the Core paper for each subject (along with the people doing dual award) and then you also take the Extension paper if you do triple award. The upside is that I could completely fail one science and get A*s in the others. The downside is that it's more complex.

I can't even remember what was in my German exam two weeks ago. I block out the exams as soon as I leave the room - makes the rest of my life a little less painful :thumb:. Nah, just kidding.

They say that for AS levels and A levels you should choose what you enjoy... but what if I don't enjoy any of the subjects? ;).

Kitiara
June 2nd, 2003, 05:44 AM
Whatever you do, don't choose German A Level. I made that mistake and really regretted it. I should have done English. German at A Levl is nasty. Truly nasty.

JK87
June 2nd, 2003, 05:50 AM
Lol Soul...

Kit, ours were/are insane. We have an Irish Biology teacher who is more than happy to be loud, embarassing, evil and funny all at once. He is probably one of the best teachers in our school but he can be so evil at times.

Soul, remember that the left ventricle is actually on the right hand side of the diagram.

Oh and yeah, I was hoping to do German AS and A level. I'm a bit of a language boff so I was planning on doing French and German originally but then I decided against it. I was already planning to do English literature but I can't do English language because my school don't teach it :(.

I hated German A Level, it did my head in. Suppose it didn't help that I changed schools after the GCSEs and the new school had done a whole load more on German than my old one. :sure:

Our Biology teach was a woman, probably about 50-ish, called Mrs Lee... She was fine with plants, but had real trouble with anything else. :P And of course a class of 30 teenagers can come up with some really embarrassing questions when they put their minds to it...

JK87
June 2nd, 2003, 05:56 AM
Well, our teacher takes what we say and turns it against us. It shuts up any cheeky people within a few minutes :). And German would be hell for me because our school has a school within it for Dutch people who's parents work for Shell.

The result it that I have a lot of competition in German (although, they actually have the german lessons in Dutch to German rather than English to German) because Dutch and German are so similar and they have been doing it for longer ;).

Kitiara
June 2nd, 2003, 06:11 AM
Eep. :)

I just have nightmares about my German A Level... Theatre Studies was basically a skive class, but quite fun when we weren't humiliating ourselves. Computer Science was great, Dance was cool and General Studies was multiple choice. :P

JK87
June 2nd, 2003, 06:26 AM
I was doing ICT GCSE but decided to drop it because our school ICT dept. is hopeless and our teachers are crap. To top it all of, ICT GCSE isn't really to do with computers unless you view computers as things that always work and with which you can only use publisher, word and excel...

I'm not going to do ICT at my current school but if I'm lucky, I might be able to do computer science at University.

I don't think I would be the kind of guy to do dance or theatre studies though :smirk:. And I am hoping that German AS and A level will be fun rather than a mental handicap which haunts me for the rest of my life ;).

Without further adue, I must leave you to do some last minute cramming before the Biology exam. Take care, and see you in about 5 hours :).

£5.10 is the cost of a one-day travelcard into Central London. Basically, my exhibition piece was a website, so I needed a computer to display it. But of course, being crappy, the college could only provide me with an electrical extension until today (exhibition finishes on wednesday), so I've had to bring in my own extension and my own multiplug adaptor! which means I can't use my toaster and kettle at the same time! dagnabit!

but yeah, as soon as I arrived I sorted it in about 15 mins... and now there's nothing for me to really do. how annoying

Hahhhahahahhahahaha...

*sigh*

I managed to turn up 30 minutes late to my Core Biology GCSE exam.

Did the school phone home when I wasn't there? Nooo...
Did they check to see if any of my friends had my mobile number? Nooo...

- You get the picture :).

Fortunately, I was able to have my full 1 hour and 30 minutes which meant that I just took the exam under a little pressure (due to turning up late, wondering where everyone is, looking in the examination room and seeing everybody sitting down at their desks writing away...).

It's amazing how badly that can screw with your head ;). However, I think I did rather well in the exam lol :bad:.

Apparently, if you're an hour or more late, you cannot take that exam... aren't I lucky it was only 30 minutes late? :).

Well yeah, sort of. We had a week of study leave (last week) and before that we had a few exams. My only afternoon exam started at 2pm... so I assumed that all afternoon exams started at 2pm. Apparently, that's not the case. They are supposed to start at 1pm but for some reason the Biology exam started at 1:20pm (which was good for me because it meant I was only 30 minutes late rather than 50 minutes late...).

It's funny that we "English" seem to use the random forum more than any other nationality on this board... *chest swells with national pride :P*

*dominates* :). Forum domination... it's our goal and we will achieve it!!!

[edit] and don't you ever, ever use "innit" asphalt. There isn't a thing in the world that I hate more than the slang "innit" (although, it may have just been a typo on your part :)).

Morning Asphalt. :)

Our firewall is weird... I can run some things that most people can't because I'm a local admin, but still can't get everythign working exactly how I want it. :sure:
