I am trying to create an animation that resembles a car driving down a road. The element that will animate is the lines of the road in the center in a vertical line. They will move from top to bottom of the screen to simulate movement.

My problem is that although the lines move and loop, there is a slight pause in betw loop iterations.

I have ensured that the "Loop Animation" option is on so the first and last are not repeating. I have also adjusted the key frame properties to set the tension to -1 which helped a little. Is there something else I am missing?

I have attached the Swift 3d file in case it will help in answering my question.

Thanks in advance.

Ok I took a quick look at your file, and it really strange. Your right, in the beginning it moves slowly and then faster.

But now I haven't got that much time, I'l give it a better look on monday, because I have examens till monday. Okay?

Allright I took a look, and it's really strange. I could be face fraud (if you know what i mean) but I doubt it.

I guess you must have done something wrong in the beginning. But I wouldn't know what.

anyway Swift somethimes behaves strange, I know that.

Sorry I could'nt help:smirk:

OK, so do you have any suggestions? Should I start over? Should I give up?

Any ideas would be useful. This hopefully is not outside the capabilities of Swift as it seems to be the most simple of animations.

Also, I am not sure what you mean by face fraud... but if you don't think this is it, then no need to explain.

Thanks,

With Face Fraud I mean, You see it wrong, the vision is not seeing it right, hmm, how should I explain, You see it and you interpret it, but in reality it's isn't working like you see it..

Sorry for the bad explaination. ;(

BTW have you inserted the camera first? or have you inserted it afterwards? That could be the problem too.

I'm really sorry, but I not such a prof...

I inserted the camera, and then performed the animation. I wouldn't be surprised if I am missing something obvious as this is my first attempt at Swift.

Is there a way in swift that you can show a coordinate grid?... or some better way to mark positions of objects? It seems very difficult to move things around in Swift without it.

Thanks for your help.

I would advice to make the animation first without the camera, then afterwards add the camera.

And the moving of object is really frustrating. there isn't a grit, but you have to use the two camera's, one for moving Up and down, and one for moving objects forward and backward.

Swift is good, but it's not that good for perfectionists. :)

with most all 3d application i rather use my camera to set my scene than rather move my 3d object. you must of added a keyframe or some strange camera setting for it to be going strange, my internet is slow at the moment (have a download limit) will check it out 2morrow for you.

Thanks Soulty, but you don't need to bother. I found a work around... I just imported the frames into Flash and then deleted one or two frames where it "slows down". This resulted in a smoother animation.

I agree with you that moving the camera is far easier than moving the objects... and that is how I will perform animations in the future when appropriate.

But thanks for your help.
