drawing effect help

hello all

does anyone know how to create a drawing effect similiar to the one found on the neostream site? it seems to outline the image and then the image just appears.. it looks so cool..

if you don't know what i'm talking about.. go to www.neostream.com, click enter, it will take a bit to load... then go to the last flame, [episode].

please help! if you don't know how to do it.. letting me know what its properly called would be helpful too!

It's a method of using frame by frame animation, do a search on Google for it.

you've gotta use a lot of masking usually for that kind of thing... it's similar to the effect where it looks like writing is actually being written by a pen. You've gotta mask each frame, slowly revealing more and more detail... there might be another way too, but that's how i'd do it
