Ok, if a computer doesnt have an FPS on its not a computer so I want to get some games for my linux, its a powerfull machine so graphics are no problem, I heard Americas Army use to support linux but cant find a link.

Anyone know some good ones, oh and some with lots of people still playing online. I get bored of AI

There's a section for games in the Debian repos (and, therefore in Ubuntu, too, most likely), and you can also install WINE and try running some Windows games.

The ubunut repositories are swamped with rubbish educational games, ill try wine and see if it works

For optimum gaming performance, spend some time getting to know WINE so you can tweak it to your system.

World of Warcraft works in Wine BTW (dont know about the new version but i was told a while back that it runs very well). Not an FPS but good to know info.

Most DX games will usually fail to work in Wine btw.

Check these out:

Tremulous: http://tremulous.net/
Nexuiz: http://www.alientrap.org/nexuiz/
Cube 2: http://www.cubeengine.com/index.php4

I'm pretty sure tremulous and nexuiz are in the ubuntu repositories (maybe in universe/multiverse) so they should be a snap to install (or uninstall :) )

Just heard of another one:

Warsow: http://www.warsow.net/?page=home

One of the biggest complaints people (kids) have about linux is the lack of games...I think all of that is changing.

Too bad I don't have time for such nonsense :)
