Hi all:
I am new to this forum. Just 2 days back I came to know about this site, and this site simply rocks. I'm not a web designer or a developer, but just a musician and photographer, photoshop and web enthusiast; happned to see this contest and thought of my own banner. I never did one before, but just for this. Please give me suggestions and feedback on this one.
Cheers

:( it screams windows 3.1.
Ditch the glow on the text, and make the colours compliment each other a bit more (yellow on green/blue like that is a colour shock!) Try a nice font too :)

Hi:
Thanks to you everyone for every comment. I will definitely work more on the fonts and try to add some cool effect to the text. But, does anybody have any good (free) font to suggest??
Regards

You can contact me anytime if you want some really good (yet free) grunge, futuristic and misc. fonts I selected from a huge rout. I'd be glad to share them :)
Plus, you can check out dafont.com They have a common selection from all the sites, but it's much much easier to navigate and find the exact font you want.
And about adding cool FX to text, well here's the whole deal in a nutshell: FX or not, if it's not readable and/or properly aligned, it sucks bigtime. :thumb2:
Plus, in small pieces of graphics like footers, stay away from embellished/exaggerated fonts that focus more on design than readability. Stay with fonts that are straight, and the letters say exactly what you want them to, and are not too big or bold (YUKK!)
Just look at the sigs in this thread for example. Darkmotion's siggy = small, straight, thin, perfectly readable font. Sebby's siggy = small, straight, thin, perfectly readable again. Notice a pattern here my friend? ;)
