mesh quality adds more polygons, which in turn means more detail and a better model.....unfortunately that equates to higher render times......but all in all more mesh quality is a good thing..

DD is turning into random....thanks Soul :(

All depend on what job you are doing, ie if it's spaceship like, extrusions and mostly boxes you dont have to use many... Keep the faces. On the other hand if you are using donut shapes, spheres and all that and expect to have a good shading well then you should increase mesh quality, keeping in mind it will be larger file size if you decide to use it with flash....
