Nat to bad on the design side... kill the movement on the clouds are make it look more fluid. Make it full flash with no scale.

- Your scroller for the news section doesn't work properly for me. When you click and drag and move your cursor from the scrollbar, it messes up.
- The reflection on the "elementdesign" text really doesn't work well due to the hanging "g" in design. Outside of that, the reflection looks out of place, you'd be better off removing it all together.
- Your nagivation is uninteresting and really choppy. I'd try to come up with different effects than having the lines come across.
- I also need to question the logic of putting your work on the bottom of the navigation. If you're looking to have people hire you (it's a portfolio afterall) why is your work seemingly the most least important thing?
- In the same vein, why isn't content displayed when the site is opened for the first time? You shouldn't rely on the user clicking one of the buttons to serve content.
- The site isn't centered in my browser window.
Overall, I think it's a solid foundation to build off of, but there's still a ton of work to pour into it. Remember: content always comes first.

I'm not sure what you mean by "full flash with no scale"
Please elaborate

If you click contact then about it screws up and just shows "DeviantArt" in the text area.

I like this design-- it's nice, fluffy, and delicate.
I agree that the bubble/cloud animation needs to be smoothed out. Being that it's one of the first elements you see (and therefore the first impression), its' choppiness just raised a question mark in my head.
I don't agree with McGuffin's opinion that the navigation is uninteresting (but yeah, it's choppy). I actually think it has its' own character. I also think the lines work well with this character.
As he mentioned, I also wondered why content wasn't initially displayed, and why it's last on your list?
Also, for a design layout like this, it really DOES need to be centered in the browser...

Totally agree the animation needs to go. Not a bad start. Post your updates.
