LOL, yeah hopefully no one will get offended by my footer, it directs its statement at no one personally except when it says "I", which is me of course. And "You" could be anyone... yep... it could be ;)

I now load the quotes from an external .as file for easier updating so you may see some new things in there every now and again ;)

nice.. why not textfiles though, cause then you wouldn't need to republish the file each time you modify the .as file :)

ahmed: You have to republish your file every time you update the .as file? What for? If it loads the same file every time and that file changes, then the content should change no? (well unless its cached already of course). Is there something I am missing?


oh and I didn't do .txt files because then I would have to parse the .txt file into an array and I wanted to limit the coding

are you using '#include 'myfile.as'' or loading them (with loadvars)? im kind of confused :)

oh.. you actually do have to republish the swf whenever you update the .as file when you use #include :(

i got a quote from some forum
Files that are included using #include are *not* included at run-time (when the SWF is run), but during compilation (when the FLA gets compiled into an SWF), which means every time you change the *.as file, you need to re-compile the FLA.

Did not know that. Do you know why? It makes no sense to me.

Either way, I did the .as way now because I have to go soon, I will probably do a .txt, or .xml file later on.

I am kinda in a flashy mood (ive actually been working on my Flash site lately... woo hoo), so I think tonight I will rework it to load from a .txt file. It shouldn't be too hard, I already know how to parse a .txt file into an array so I think I should be alright ;)

LOL.... thanks 28. I don't think my footer is the best, but I kinda like it.

And I figure I should state this here as I did in your PM 28... the word "liars" obviously only works with "They are" and "We are", but for the other ones it doesn't. I knew this when I added the word and it was intentional. I find it comical.
