Hi,

I have been creating a website for a friends club night...but im struggling with the residents page. I have an image of each resident, but wanting it to tie in with the current colour scheme. So i have opted for greys and a futuristic look (well...sort of).

I have came up with this (See attached...if you click on it you will see more detail)

Any ideas?

It currently looks like this:
http://www.parkers-stuff.co.uk/residents.html

I was going to put the pics above each of there names

Cheers :beam:

They're not excellent pics (full frontal flash) so there's only so much you can do...

Would silhouettes only work ?

You came to the right place!

If nothing else you will find a lot ideas here in these forums.

Hey Mlk, no...any effect/idea would do really. Just got a few musts:
Must be greyscale/monotone? (what do you think? Think it would tie in better with the website)
Also, must fit the grey box above resdient name (See below for an example)

OR...should i re-do my residents page so the image is larger? as it is qutie small??

Yeah, got some good answers last time i was stuck here...a dude pointed me on the right direction for a free flash gallery...but was having problems with multiple albums...it is now on the back burner for now.

Anyhoo, here is a link for the untouched original image:

Been working on this for a while now...but still cant seem to get anything good enough.

I was trying to follow this tutorial:

Pattern/silhouette tutorial using a layer mask
http://community.livejournal.com/icon_tutorial/4994818.html#cutid1

Which is ideal...but when i get to Step 9 - its filling the wrong part (not the outlines, but the face etc)

Here is a link to the psd file if anybody can lend a hand!

Thanks in advance :ne:

Was trying to make a vector out of the image myself...but didnt go too well. Have came up with this one (See attached)

Like the vector...not too sure about the red hair tho

oh i don't know - the red hair suits you :)

I thought a splash of red in each of the people would reflect well with the red on the website - doesn't have to be the hair though - could be the t shirt or cap etc...just a thought on my part.

The image you did yourself is fine, perhaps using 2 or 3 shades of grey would be nice - have the face one shade of grey, the hair a darker shade, and possibly a red for the t shirt?

Hahahaha...I aint ginger...its strawberry blonde :liar:

Yeah, I get what your saying...definitely ties in with my colour scheme. I have sort of scrapped the small boxes - they weren’t much use. Couldn’t really do much with them. I have now done the following:

http://www.parkers-stuff.co.uk/residents2.html

What you think? Might change the faces from black to dark grey and use the same layer style used in the main logo with the paint splashes?
