Hi! Iīm going to make and send to the printer one of those figures made to actual heights and body shape, I donīt know if I explain myself :P The picture is of a boy and I need to make it to his real height which is 120 cm, my question is what should I know to make it? dpi?? I got a nice high quality picture but still I have to scale up the image, any recommendations?? thanks!

What are you on about ?

DPI doesn't really matter; if you specify in PS that your image is 120cm high it will be, no matter what resolution.

But a 72dpi 120cm print will most likely be ugly up-close.

it depends on the size and quality of the original image

standard printers usually render realife quality at 300dpi minimum. that means that if you scale your image you will lose quality unless you have a massive dpi file. i imagine that unless the photo was done by a professional who intended for it to be blow up this large, it will degrade.

some helpful tips for enlarging in PS. if you change image size (up) choose bicubic smoother in the resample option. if you go down, use bicubic smoother. these help compensate somewhat for the change in size and will give you sharper results with less distortion. i can scale a RAW image (6.1mp) from 6x9 @ 360 dpi to postersize or slightly larger with almost no loss of quality but it takes a lot of tweaking.

heighten up the DPI, it saves the quality a lot;)
