help on photoshop...

Can someone please tell me how I can crop around very detailed images, like hair, without having to use the pen tool. I remember learning how to do this by using a Quick Mask, but I haven't done it in a while and I lost the tutorial to it.

If anyone knows of any helpful tutorials, I'd really appreciate it.

use the extract filter....go to filter>extract...play with the settings a lil bit

or use the magic wand, if your picture has a good contrast you might come out with something alright... play around with the tolerance level
