it's for a class assignment, make a symbol/logo that represents ourselves and our style. WHat do you think?

looks cool! But I agree with ö, the mouth could use some work. It looks like the teeth are glued to his jaws. But it's hard when it's a scull, the gums rot pretty fast i would imagine...

The teeth should overlap from the front, not from the back. They should also be on a much more curved plane. The back of the skull should be much longer as well. Honestly it's the anatomy which is killing it. The concept is fine, I suppose, but that's not what a skull looks like at all.

the jaw doesnt look 3d, it looks like a flattened out 2d version.
Grab a tutorial on facial/skull contruction and work out the planes, and tweak it to fix, but I love the concept :)

I like the banner addition. I also agree that the upper teeth should be visible from the foremost tooth and every tooth after should be behind it.
When I think of the name DrAvalanche I would probably think of a mountain covered in snow and THEN stick some hypodermics coming out of the snow randomly.
Or draw a cartoony Chevy Avalanche with a thermometer coming out from under the hood... and make the temperature high.
Or draw a dude in a pocket of ice/snow (as if covered by an avalanche) and put a stethoscope around his neck.
Or draw a waiting room on the side of the mountain and stick random people sitting in the snow and have a window witha receptionist and above her is a sign the says Dr Avalanche.
Just a few ideas... cause that's what I do.

the bottom of the jaw looks like a pancake, not a jaw, give the man a freaking chin and bring his bottom teeth in tighter, as teeth don't take the form of what they are biting

i don't know all the details about the project but from what you have up there its says that you're style is immature and drug related or death oriented. i know u said its to represent the dr. but is your real name dr. avalanche? i doubt it. i am looking at it objectively as if i didn't know anything about it but since i do ill give you my advice:
my initial reaction is dont use a skull... it seems kind of immature like you would see on a young teenagers notebook. it doesnt really tell me anything except perhaps your morbid and enjoy heroin.
the style looks ok, could use some more finetuning, a little less cartoonish or much more cartoonish but make it look intentional.
i would recommend doing some deep searching to find what you truely want to represent yourself as. if thats it, ok, but i think spending 3 hours brainstorming ideas and sketches will give you a stronger symbol with more meaning and much more rewarding.
p.s.
if your syring is big enough in diameter to have ripples in the liquid then the liquid would be running horizontal due to gravity rather than vertical as if it were only a 1/2" diam.

You are getting too complex with it - i liked it better with just the "+" behind it.
Anyways this is one of the better things you have posted there Dr. ... good stuff. :thumb:
