Hello all...

Well it's finally done (my html site (http://icypenguin.ca/eng/html/index.htm)).

I'm still working out a few minor bugs, but the site is ready in time for my bday today :).

I don't think I'll be changing much else on the site - except for the content - which kind of sucks at the moment :D.

So just looking for some crits and comms.

It's alright. Looks just like every other blog out there though. I'd put some more effort into personalizing it.

Well I'll put my logo in there afterwards but that's all I was planning on.
I kind of wanted to go simple for this one, but what would you have in mind, perhaps?

And, well, it's not a blog - just a (temporary?) portfolio.
'Cause I'm working on my flash site (http://icypenguin.ca/eng/flash/index.htm) (might as well throw that one out there to see how I'm doing - just the beginnings of a WIP).

It's cool to go with the simple thing, but it seriously just looks like any other site, nothing distinguishes it. Perhaps a more interesting color scheme would help. It's worlds better than your old site you were posting, I just think it may have a ways to go. As far as your flash site, it looked extremely broken to me, so I'm not sure.

No, it just took me like 30 seconds to draw it out in Photoshop since it was an idea.

I just forgot to take it out afterwards. :(

It seems I always have to defend myself whenever I post in here :puzzle: lol.

Nevertheless, would you guys have any suggestions so I can improve the site (since most of you find it boring and unoriginal)?

I didn't think it was that big of a deal - it was just a quick image so that I could remember a possible idea for my logo. :/

After seeing the rest of your stuff that you have posted in the past - this is by far the best you have done and I compliment you on keeping at it! :thumb: With that said, I think that it's a bit bland and you could possibly do more with it - but bland isn't always a bad thing. It does look a lot like every other Blog thing you see ... but what can ya do. Anyways good job! and vast improvement! :thumb2:

Another question, should it take so long for google (http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=icy+penguin)to have me up? Right now all it has is my splash page that was up about a month ago.
None of the other major engines have listed me yet.
