Hi.
Well a friend of the family (Ruth Corney) asked me to do some stuff to her site (www.ruthcorney.com) a couple of weeks ago. So I took the oppertunity to just experiment to see if I could make a gallery in flash to fit her site.
So this is what I came up with. (http://www.boshpk.co.uk/test/)
Although she won't actually be using the gallery above, I would still love to hear what you guys think about my creating.
Thanks.
Edit: I still need to work through some bugs and things, but you get the general idea. and the code is very messy...

i think you could work on some of the content text right now it looks a little sketchy...do you have anti-alias on? the overall design isnt bad, nice simple and easy to navigate..also the nav buttons...why do they have the underscore?

maybe its just my pet peeve but why in the world would you use blurred or low quality images for a photographer's site! be better quality and larger images up there if the purpose is to showcase the womans work.

the reason theres an underscore is because Ive got it set up so that in the xml file, you only write the name of the folder the images are stored in and the info, and I use the folder name for the title in the gallery selection box. Il fix that in a sec. As for the text, Il try to make it less sketchy.

I just took the images directly from her site, so theres not much I can do about that. :/ (until I get hold of the full sized images, if she still has them)
edit: fixed and fixed.

Hey,
Nice work.
I'm looking to get something similar to what you have... However, I am really not that gifted when it comes to coding however. Would you be willing to direct me in where you got your xml gallery? Unless of course you built it yourself.
I'm a better designer than coder, but I really need to get a portfolio site up online in the next 2 weeks.
any help appreciated.
thx.

please embed/antialias the fonts - they really detract from the site...
only time aliased fonts are good is when its like 10pt or something - the fonts u use are to big to be aliased.
pretty nice overall :thumb:
