I like it.. The face seems to run together a bit so you might consider a slight gradient mesh to break it up and add a little shadow, but in general i think you did a pretty good job. Especially for your 2nd attempt.

not bad!

It feels unfinished. The hand is wonderfully detailed, while the rest is simply blocked in. I'm sure you can do better.

Thanks for all the critiques. I have to agree with anogar, i too felt that the face got less details but problem is that, this picture was taken from modeling studio with so much light that there are not much details on face even in original image.

I tried to zoom right in to find more detail but face is just flat color. I will still try to add some more details(if you have any tips please guide me). If there is any thing else I can do to improve please let me know.

Thanks again.

There's shading all over that face. Under/around the eyes, behind the nose, between lip and chin, etc. Shadows all over.

Yeah, it definitely needs some shadows. But still do vector shadows, don't do gradient shadows because that would completely ruin it. ;) I think it's a great job, but some more detail and a higher quality image would really help.

Zooming in is going to flatten it out. Squint at your image to get a feel for the shadow and highlight blocks.

I suck at doing hands in vectors you have done it so nicely :thumb2:

Here's a little tip for figuring out shading. Photshop -> image -> adjustments -> threshold. Move the slider around to find the different levels of shading. Then overlay a couple different levels at the appropriate opacity. Try not to illustrate the exact threshold. Instead smooth out the curves or do whatever style you are going for.

Hope this helps:

yeah with vector art - you can always try and use the shadows to your advantage - since they are somewhat suggested and over-suggested just to be able to show shape and form of things ... also - you might try playing around with the skin tone a bit more along with the hair - might make it match the actual photo better ;)
