Hmm, the site looks fine, but the content seems like BS to me ;) "I believe that teamwork is crucial..." how many times haven't an employer seen that ? be original man!

Liked the design though, simple yet sleek!

Yes add a work section or something;)
But the site looks pretty neat actually!

Some small things you may want to adjust though.. the black bg color of the cofee-cup image is to dark for the page bg-color. Cause you can see this nasty line at the border of the picture, where the page-bg is revealed. You see what I mean?

Also, what's with the thing on the top if the site? The gray thing that looks like a picture from a factory floor.

Other than that, the site looks really sophisticated...nice use of colors and clean/good design. Especially for a 2 hour job:P
I think it looks sophisticated, when it comes to my english vocabulary Im not sure.. but the word just seemed to fit. Please correct me if the word means something completely different! hehe

-peace!

Awesome, thanks for the critiques guys.

But i DO think teamwork is crucial...in fact i'm almost religious on that fact and everything else i said on that page. Besides, even if i didnt believe in it, you dont tell your hopeful future employer "Well, team work is great, but i feel that i am much more capable by myself than with other's as they usually turn out to be incompetent..." Dont imaging that that would fly too well. My opinions have been picked up on throughout my professional life and i definately stand by them :)

I'm glad everyone liked the design though(at least for the most part).

About the work page...if i decide to use this idea for my actual portfolio i will definatly add one, as well as a contact page...the whole premis behind this page is that i DONT have a portfolio and got the interview at the last minute. didnt want to go in empty handed so i put this together.

My monitor is WAAAY dark so i havent noticed if the edges dont meet up ok. I'll make an adjustment and could someone check it again for me?

The thing up top right is "supposed" to be an antique ribbon bookmark. I'll touch up on that too. This was litterally a two hour job(smoke breaks included) so i guess i didnt have enough time to think about adding much texture to such a small detail.

SIDE NOTE: I just got back from the interview. It went awesome. They kept me there for two hours and it REALLY seemed like they liked me. They liked the design too.

The office building is HUGE. There are Firarri's in the parking lot, colorful walls in the hallway mazes and staircases, the production floor cubicles are huge and they have instruments on the production floor that ppl just pick up and play randomly. I think i'm gonna love it there :)

Not bad, but let me give you some advice, coming from a person who just got finished the job hunt after college.

- Take everyones' advice on the work example section. No decent quality company will take you when all they see is one page you have created. You need to have other projects, not just to show of you coding/graphic skills, but to also show them that you can manage projects on your own and get things done.

- What skills do you have? If you are in an interview with someone you can explain your skills, but if someone sees only this page then they have no clue what you actually know, other than HTML and Photoshop.....and CSS if they are smart enough to view source. At least put a link to your resume, but another paragraph explaining your technical skills would also be nice.

- "Unable to prepare a proper portfolio" - I hope you have a good answer for why you can't create one, cus if I was your interviewer I would ask that. I missed an awesome chance to work at a design firm in Atlanta because I didn't have my portfolio completely finished, I would suggest that you take the time to make this site a proper portfolio.

Not trying to bash you or anything, I hope it doesn't sound that way. I just wanted to give you some tips coming from someone in the industry that has been through a lot of interviews/critiques. Good luck:thumb:

I appreciate your taking time to reply :)

Most of that has already been answered up above. The work section is coming, but this was a two hour piece i put together to show that i know what i'm doing when it comes to formatting, design, organization, presentation, etc... I dont have a proper portfolio because i own a design firm and have not been able to get the time away from client work. The posistion im going for is for an HTML/CSS editor(with other development responsibilities as needed).

I wanted to keep what was on the page to a minimum, because it was just a presentation page for an interview and i would be there to speak and answer any questions he had...not to mention, he wants to talk to me, not read about me on the internet(he could have done that without me there :)

Trust me, i know what you mean about having full site examples though, to show that i can manage projects. I was terrified to go to the interview because i didnt have much more than this and a few other screenshots, flash and php things to show, but they were actually very pleased.

I dont take it as bashing, i would probably be the first to give the same kind of advice to anyone, but i am truely and entirely confident in myself and ability and i think thats what stood out the most :)

I mean, hey...they want to see me again so i had to do something right, heh? lol
