Hi there,
I am going to start up a web hosting business and below, i have 4 packages. Can you have a look at the 4 different packages and tell me if they are good value for money?
Here is the image of the 4 hosting packages...

I think the bandwidth is very, very low for a hosting package. I'd go with 100 GB for bronze, 250 GB for silver, 500 GB for gold, and 1 TB for platinum. With the bandwidth set to that and the good pricing you have, you could probably get a lot of clients if you got good advertising also.

Ok,
I will decide on new bandwidth limits and repos the image.

Ok. Good luck with the hosting; I hope some more people critique this because I'm not an expert at hosting, but I have done a fair amount of research on it. :D

not bad as far as the plans go, but i would also definatly give a boost the mySQL databases too. You can do a lot with 1gb and the 2 MySQL databases IMO are not sufficient.
On a side note, keep in mind the plans dont mean anything if you cant back them with top notch support. I know a particular hosting company that's going down because they have amazingly priced plans but horrible support.
wrong forum dude
Ditto :)
Congrats on that though, gettin a hosting company started. I've always wondered how this stuff is done...

Why limit things like email auto-responders, forwarding, boxes, etc?
I would also restrict mysql databases by size of the actual database, rather than number. For example, a user could easily store all their tables into one database without much difficulty. Same goes for subdomains… it doesn't cost you a darn cent to do unlimited… why does anybody restrict that?
Oh, and your prices are quite nice. :thumb:

^ For once nokrev and I agree something! Yay! And good point about the databases and sub-domains, BTW.

Still a few problems as nokrev has suggested BUT at the guys saying wrong forum, if you think about it, he is showcasing about his prices AND we are critiquing it. nowhere does it say it has to be a website or a piece of design work :D

I will find one in ebay. 10 bucks for unlimited bandwidth, unlimited disk space.

Thank you everyone for your comments.
Most hosting companys limit email addresses etc and mysql databases.
And the lowest packages start at 1000 email addresses and thats LOADS!!!
I have made the packages better but kept the price the same. Have a look now...

Please could you post your feedback again.
Thanks! :p:

Yeah, well you ain't most hosting companies, are you? You can do a better service without any cost to you… so why not?
Anyways, I have no idea why you would restrict something just because other people do…

You restrict something so it makes users want to upgrade to the next package.
Its just business really.
Also, my technical support for the hosting is going to be really good, and really fast replies.

If you did like unlimited bandwidth and stuff like that I would definitely sign up for your hosting, because it seems like all the hosting companies are being dumb and restricting bandwidth. :a:

There's no such thing as unlimited bandwidth (check this link (http://www.findmyhosting.com/truthunlimited.htm))... Any business that advertises such a thing are just compromising the level of service their user gets (as they all share the same servers and same bandwidth so if 1 user abuses the bandiwdth they all suffer) and no doubt has alot of server downtime due to overloads. I went with a cheap host at first and there was alot of downtimes...
webhostingtalk.com is a good site to check out for webhosting topics.

I know there is no such thing as unlimited bandwidth. Thanks for that anyway.
Also, Esherido...
If you would like to sign up to my hosting feel free. I will post back here when my site is all set up.
Basically, if a user is on any package, and they want more bandwidth, i can add however much extra bandwidth they want on for a low cost. So say if someone wanted an extra 20GB bandwidth, then it would cost an extra 50p or so a month for that extra bandwidth.
Basically a customized plan.

I feel a little crisp on the edges from that flare you sent Soudou. But hey, maybe Allsort will spark a hosting revolution and then I'll get to send it right back at you. Good luck Allsortshop! :D

It wasn't meant to be inflammatory, sorry if it seemed that way :) *douses flames* Just a friendly tip as there's alot of hosts out there that get away with false advertising like the unlimited myth and have duped people out of alot of money :( Although there's no such thing as unlimited, allsort has the right idea by offering custom plans like some others I have seen do. Breaks away from the boxed plans and should be successful. :D

^ No problem mate. I was just joking. * Flicks lighter while smiling and holding a can of gasoline in other hand. *
The "boxed" plans do seem a little constricting, and I also think Allsortshop's idea of offering custom plans is a good one.

I'd still go for the unlimited MySQL / e-mail / forwarders, my hosts do that and are doing very well - maybe you could decrease some of your bandwidth and hard disk usage and then remove the limit - I'd go for you!
