Quite fishy indeed.. doesnt seem to load ;)
Try a preloader - users like to know how long they have to wait
(woo my first post :o)

Loaded fine for me ... somewhat boring but ok to just display images. (you might want to speed up the transition effect for each photo etc.) ... try and keep the interest of the viewer as best as possible. :thumb:

Didn't load here. Windows XP & FF.

<param name="movie" value="main2.swf"...
<embed src="main.swf" quality="high" scale="noscale"...
The sourced dont match...you need to make sure they are the same to work cross-browser...the "embed" code is what makes it work in FF...
Tested in IE:
You should disable the "click to activate" feature in IE...there are scripts you can find here to do it...(maybe kirupa should add a quick tutorial so there arent so many questions on it, lol)
I like the transistion from "filter" to normal but maybe it could go faster...right now things just seem kind of bleh, but they dont really have to be.
Not much to say on the design...keep workin on it, its a good start. :)

Might want to work on the menu some, just go with a pixel font and remove the letter spacing. Also, go with pixel font on the about page. ;) Besides that, the gallery and photos look good. :thumb:

I fired up IE tho I hated doing that, anyways.. and checked out your site. I can see you have some text on the bottom right side of the site, with the site adress. that doesnt look so good. But you've got some really nice pictures:)

Great, I think the prob is solved, and it should work in FF now
I agree that the transition is too slow, ill fix that.
Thanx for all your comments

It works in FF for me now. I certainly agree that the transition is too slow, you just can't make people wait that long between pictures.

I think the transition is just right for a gallery that small. But as you get more people you'll want to shorten up the transition length. ;)

IMO even with the small amount of content, i dont like waiting so long to see the full detail of the image.
I love some of those photo's though :)

It's fuzzy for way too long, it makes the viewing experience unpleasant for me. Artifically making it take longer to view the whole thing via long transitions in a short portfolio is a horrible idea.

I think the fuzziness is a cool transition. You're just jealous because you don't have it on your site. :P

No, I like the transition, i think its a good idea... what we're getting at is it last too long.

I wasn't talking to you Slic. Though it will be too long in the future, but I still think it's just right right now. I was talking to Anogar.

I totally agree on the transitions, I changed them to a third of the original, and thinks it looks a lot smoother now.
Thx for comments

Hey you could up the fps to make it smoother and faster
Esherido
September 27th, 2006, 03:43 PM
All he has to is increase the blur difference as the loop iterates. I'm guessing he's got the frame rates at 20-30 FPS like any good designer should.

When you look at the button tweens it seems the movie has low fps, or then its just my comp;D

September 27th, 2006, 03:54 PM
What are you running on your comp? :x

I disagree with the pixel font suggestion, though I don't like the font the way it is either. Pixel fonts really don't match the atmosphere of the site. Probably something scripty.

jk, don't you notice the low fps on the buttons?

He's definitely right about the fps. It's set pretty low.
Also, if I click on the contact button repeatedly it blinks.

Well I guess the FPS is pretty low then, I hadn't noticed that. I was assuming he had the FPS set at 20-30 where it should be and not at around 10.

might want to validate the contact form as well so you don't get blank emails!
