I'm moving to the Boulder / Denver area early next year (from London) and was just wondering what the job markets like for experienced Flash / Flex developers (8 years+)? Here in London the web seems to be booming again and good Multimedia developers are still rare as hens teeth - Can I expect the same in the States - are AS skills in demand? Or, is the economy too shaky - I keep hearing horror stories...

Also any got any useful words on the Boulder / Denver area?

You might want to check out Monster.com. It's huge here, in the States, at least.

ok thanks for the tip - we have monster here in the uk but its not as useful as some of the more specialist groups like chinwag.

Also the only way of earning any serious money in the UK is to go freelance. Is that true in the states? I heard the need for health insurance means more people take permanent jobs.

Hey blockage, I currently live in the denver area. While my job is in IT, I do a lot of free lance in my spare time through my own company. I'm not a 100% sure what the flash community is like here but definately check out monster.com and dice.com. You will also want to check out craigslist.com. For denver specific jobs you can also check out denverpost.com.

There are several companies based out of Denver/Boulder that could be looking for flash developers. ebags.com is based in the tech center, and you have a company called devilfish in boulder that was responsible for the MMO auto assualt. They may have need as well.

If there is anything I can do to help out, just give me a shout.
