this question may sound dumb but i dont care, i had a question about the white macbooks.
im planning to get a macbook for school work and such, i was just wondering if their fine now. last time i heard that the laptops were blowing up and some macbooks were overheating badly.
so yeah.....
did apple recall all those faulty laptops or what?
thanks.

wasn't it the batteries that were faulty?
i'm not sure about it for school. but with bootcamp or parallels, i'd get a mac anytime;)

It was only the batteries which were recalled.
You won't get a faulty battery in a brand new laptop bought from Apple, why would they give you a faulty battery?

Most of those have been Powerbooks and the earlier MacBook Pros. I haven't heard of any MacBooks.

Yeah, no battery problems with the Macbook, nor any exploding issues and the such. People say it heats too much, I don't think so. It's not THAT hot. Definitely not that hot. I don't think I'll be loosing the ability to reproduce by using this on my lap, but it's somewhat warm.

the last i know, it was an issue with the mac book pro hard drives that were faulty, but apparently that issue is no more. i heard it was a dell that exploded at a conference, and if im not mistaken, it was on kirupa forums that i saw it.... but at age 25, im old and my memory fails me, so i may be wrong

Depends on the one you get. I'm having issues with mine. Check this thread.
