Which is better, the ATI Radeon X1950 or the Nvidia GeForce 7950GX2?

http://www.ati.com/products/RadeonX1950/index.html

http://www.nvidia.com/page/geforce_7950.html

Also: my power unit is 300W, new card is gonna need a 600W, can anyone suggest a good new one that's not too expensive?

Needs to be PCIE compliant with combined 12V current rating of 40A

My m'board is an Asus P5LD2

600W POWER SUPPLY REQUIRED!!!!??? Yikes oh man, mine is 350 and i'm upping to 550 for future upgrades, but yikes a video card that requires that much just to handle itself...

Heres what you do.

1: Rob a bank
2: Buy a electrical company
3: Hook up your pc to the Master in switch
4: Run like hell
5: You got a *****in machine ;)

For cheap PS I wouldn't go any cheaper than $80-$100 on a 600 just because it is the lifeforce of the machine

Well the Nvidia needs 600W becuase is pretty much two 512mb graphics cards, it's dual core...

Something like this would be appropriate, yes?

I've got a 550watt (cost me 120usd its a vortec they make some nice Power Units.

x1950xtx << well thats equal to a 7950GX2 So the x1950 doesnt have the extra letters so obviously the 7950GX2 is def better.

This looks exactly like mine except its red mine glows blue (and has lower watts).

If you wish to go SLI I would rather go rather dual 7900s cheaper and more efficient combined than the 7950 or even 2 7600s. That PS is quad SLI ready so it seems very good, how much would that be in U.S. dollars? It looks pretty good though.

The one I posted is like $150...

That one looks pretty sweet Temp, might get it actually...if they ship to England.

Edit: Don't ship internationally :(

^ Two 7900s would cost more than 1 7950 plus i'd have to change my mobo as I only have 1 PCI-E slot.

Anyway, the power suply came today, it's awesome, installed it easily and glows blue :P

The card came today, the thing is massive!

Sadly I coulden't install it, I think my mobo needs a BIOS update, I tried but it gave some error...

Took it to my local computer shop...should get it back tomorrow :)
