Hi:

I've just done this page for a friend, and I'm going to make version 2.0. But before that I would like to know what you think about it.

I would like you to take a special look at the animations

Feel free to comment and critique anything.

The page is about automatic doors for houses, factories, malls, etc. and its in spanish.

Decent. You need a major FPS boost, just change it to like 40 or 50 fps.

I do think those are nice animations.
It works, maybe you need to add some photos and some color, but it is nice!

Flash pages should be optimized to run smoothly at work properly at 31 FPS. This is actually smoother than many higher FPS settings, and it gives you consistency across browsers and platforms.

Unless you can show me a site that looks smoother at 31 than 50, I'm going to have to disagree. And I'm refering to AS based animations, timeline with frames is different.

Thanks for your comments. They are very useful to me, to help me improve version 2.0.

If anyone want to add another comment about the page, I would appreciate.

I'll let you know then version 2.0 is ready.

THANKS.:smirk:

You're welcome to disagree, FatalDisruption, but you're wrong. ;)

31 FPS is a better frame rate, for Actionscript or otherwise. You can optimize your AS to work the way you intend it to at 31 FPS, and what it does is ensure greater compatibility across browsers and platforms and CPU capabilities.

If you put it at 50 FPS, it may look good on your workstation, but the framerates that your users' experience will vary wildly. This has been confirmed by Macromedia and extensive 3rd party testing. It isn't that 50 FPS isn't theoritically better, it's that you can't get consistent results. Give it a whirl, you can make 31 FPS look perfectly smooth.

Haha 31 looks sucky on my workstation.

I wanna see adobe say "31 FPS is the best, we created the others to fool you" for your statement to be true. Otherwise, I'm not easily convinced by some guy blabbing about a frame rate being "magical"

It isn't that 31 FPS looks better, it's that it's more consistent. I have a high end workstation, and I have a crappy 1GHz Powerbook G4. If I put something at 70 FPS, it looks great on my workstation, but it chugs like crazy on the G4. If I put it at 31 FPS, I can make it look pretty decent on the workstation, and exactly the same on the G4. See?

AS can definately be optimized to work just fine at 31 FPS.

Why isnt 30 any more consistant than 31?

I'm a skeptical guy when someone just says something is "better" so sorry if I come off like you're definetly wrong or something but if I dont get thorough in-depth proof visually and mentally I cant believe it lol.

Heck if I know why it behaves like that. It's observable though. 31 is more consistant than 30, give it a shot. I don't have any reason to doubt the guy, he's an Adobe Community Expert (http://www.adobe.com/communities/experts/) and seems generally reasonable. I notice a difference between using 31 FPS and using 60 FPS, I have much better luck getting it to work at a similar speed on all the different computers I use. I work in the VAIO department, so I have access to literally hundreds of different computers lying around, and so when I get a chance I test things on different systems I do.

31 FPS is very consistent, as compared to 30, and certainly as compared to like 60 or something.

I think it's a search on the keywords 'frame' & 'rate' no?

I think it's a list of 1290 items, most if not all of which are completely useless?
