So as not to hijack the other thread.

My mouse, the Razer Copperhead is better than yours. Yes, it is. And yes, I've tried the G5 and the G7. Granted, it really comes down to personal preference. The two top gaming mice, at the moment, are the G5 and the Copperhead. The Razer has some cool features, like an incredibly robust control panel and onboard memory (which the G5 lacks). They're both excellent mice... but mine is better.

Anogar,
with the widely publicized purchase of your E6600, creation of your new spiffy computer, and now your razer copperhead makes me want to slap you in the face with a white glove and challenge you to a CS:S dual with my 3 year old computer and dell rollerball mouse...:afro:

Try husband and soon to be father. ;) Some day when you get a real job you'll understand, kid.

The G5 and the Copperhead are exactly the same laser engine, it's really a matter of preference. Like I said, I have both and I prefer the Copperhead. Check around for some reviews, it's six of one, half dozen of another. Whichever you prefer.

And Skoob, you'd own me anyway. I just buy expensive things so I'm not as terrible. :P

you have small hands dont you?I actually have fairly large hands. I'm about 6'4", and my hands are big enough that on a full sized keyboard I can reach from ~ to backspace with a single hand if I stretch my fingers out.

Cool... I was bored so I was like I wonder what happens if i call and say my mouse is broken... turns out they send you a new mouse no questions asked (well model numbers of old one ectera)... I'm getting a new G7 mouse now... wonder if I can use 2 at the same time? I really only wanted new batteries.

This thread was really just directed towards my argument with Temp. :ne: Didn't mean to be mean. :d:

Woah, that's awesome. When I get off work I'll call Razer and tell them that my mouse is broken and we'll compare customer service. :D

We were having an argument... theres nothing to argue about. the G7 is just the G5 wireless and the G5 is just the Copperhead but looks different.

Yup, sounds about right. The Copperhead glows in lots of snazzy ways though. :sure:

^You can't change sensitivity or scroll left and right and see power displayed directly on the side of the mouse.

Anogar
August 21st, 2006, 07:05 PM
You can change sensitivity on the fly with the Copperhead. There are two buttons on the side that allow you to swap between 5 which is more than the G5/7 custom defined settings. Does the Logitech allow you to custom define your on the fly sensitivity settings?

You don't need to see power directly on the side, because it's corded and you'll never run out of power. I'm not a big fan of batteries.

You're correct that you can't scroll left and right. I never really got that to work as I wanted with my Logitech mice anyway, since it doesn't function properly in Adobe products, so I don't really see this as a problem, but it is a feature that the Copperhead lacks. However, the Copperhead has 4 side buttons instead of 1, so I guess if you really wanted to you could map some to that.

The Copperhead also has onboard memory which allows you to save settings and such, even between computers.

You don't have large nonstick pads (you don't even need a mouse pad... i don't use one find them annoying.).

BTW... batteries are hot swap 1 recharges while the other is in use.

Small high quality non-stick pads are better than large ones. Less surface area means less friction. Either way, I'm beginning to feel like we should be getting out a tape measure... :wt:

I think you will actually regret starting this as you will bow your heads on shame at my amazing, super, over-clocked, 64gb RAM, [/lies] 5 year old Compaq roller ball mouse :D

I also have a Copperhead, so is mine worse because I've had it longer? Mine glows blue, what color does yours glow in?

Anogar
August 21st, 2006, 07:34 PM
Mine glows red. My neighbor's glows blue though. They both look pretty snazzy. I'm thinking about getting red LED intake and outake fans when I update my case's cooling to match. :P Yours isn't worse, it's equally excellent I'm sure. :D

Are you sure you've used a G7? You would know that the pads are very unique in that they slide really really well on almost all surfaces (yesterday a couch's arm rest at a lan).

Every mouse since optical came out has worked just fine on almost every surface. I don't really find it unique at all. High quality mouse feet are pretty standard on gaming mice these days. I personally am very fond of having a high quality mousepad though. I have one of these:

While we're on the topic of mice, anyone know where I can get an external trackpad?

La la, slightly off topic, but I find my trackpad to own all of your expensive mice :P

Anogar
August 21st, 2006, 08:18 PM
I dunno why you'd actually want one... I avoid trackpads like the plague. Seriously, what could possibly posess you to want one of those things? I'm geniunely curious. They hurt my fingers if I try to use them for any extended period of time.

But....

Because you can scroll by simply dragging the window? That's an awesome feature… although I doubt it works on the external ones.

None of those trackpads are mac compatible, and they are all quite ugly.. along with the site. I would never order from there :P

The best way to cheat, just poke thier head :), though thats might be a tablet/touchscreen, not wacom ...

I never knew optical mice worked without my nice soft gel mousepad...I actually learned something from a rant thread :)

I have a tablet that I use for drawing, but it's certainly not ideal for many tasks, especially gaming. I'm bad enough at gaming, I need all my fancy equipment to attempt to keep up. ;)
