Argh... My stick of "NANYA 1GB DDR-333MHz-CL2.5" RAM just arrived, I stuck it in my laptop, and it doesn't work.

- With the 1gb + 256mb factory RAM - in either slot:
Either boots to 'Loading your Personal Settings' and gives BSOD and reboot; or
Hangs at the 'Loading your Personal Settings' screen and shows strange artifacts on screen.

- With only the 1gb stick in either RAM slot:
Black screen. Nothing at all. I can hear HD, CPU fan and DVD-RW power-up as usual, but no display.

WAAAAHHHH!!! Specs on the RAM are exactly the same as my existing 256mb stick (except for the '1gb' bit), and it works perfectly with only the 256mb installed. I want to avoid having to send this thing back and wait (AND pay postage), so... um... Help??? :m2:

it might be a faulty ram stick, obivously nothing is wrong with ur 256 mb stick or computer, most likely you will have to send it back. Other than that I don't know, but surely Google will have an answer

Nanya? Never heard of them... Where did you buy it from? That may be a problem... Probably a better idea to stick with mainstream RAM manufactureres

Got it from an eBay store... There were mainstream brands, but they were more expensive :P
US$99 for this one. Much better than the AU$200+ I'd pay here...
