Soul Searching: My First Digital Painting...

Hey everyone,

I took advantage of Photoshop tonight since it wanted to work without crashing my ghetto computer and I decided to go out on a limb and create my very first digital painting in Photoshop.

No, I don't have a Wacom (although I long for the day I own one), so I just used the mouse, some brushes, and a filter here or there (surprisingly not many filters at all though).

Well here it is...

Kinda looks like a mixture of waves, coral and rainforest all in one. :)

Wow it looks like an aerial view of a forest and in the horizon is smoke from a fire.

It's not good, it's not bad, it's not ugly and it's not pretty either. It's what I would call an experiment. =)

Hehehe, its whatever you want it to be :) It represents something to me, but I don't expect anyone to understand that because well... its my emotions and you can't have them! hehe.

And yes... it is an experiment... so you hit the nail on the head there EG :)

Kit: Thanks. And I am awaiting that day as well. When that day comes I will probably die of over-excitement, but that Wacom will not leave my cold dead hands!!!!!

Soul: Actually you popped into my mind as I was naming it, but that was after I decided on a name for it :P Why did you have to choose the name "soul", now whenever I think about it or talk about it makes me think about you....LOL.

I like it
I see like a mix between nature and technology. It looks to me like a forest or some sort of flora in like an equalizer or something similar. Don't know how to explain it but it speaks to me. Figuratively of course. It'd be kinda creepy if it really talked to me.

prstudio: Yeah I agree with you on blurring the edges a bit more, but I did try that and it makes it look bad.... I didn't like it all all so I decided to keep them sharp.
