Hey guys, what's good :D
I am starting a small design firm, I got tired of getting pay 10h.
Check out the idea, it's name is NUEDRIFT, and the logo idea is on the layout. :D
Thank you dudes!!

i have no idea what ASPAC is and there's virtually no content => this is far from a complete layout. you need to throw some content in there.

Hahahah I love when people tag "studios" onto whatever when its only them and they work out of their parents basement

Hahahah I love when people tag "studios" onto whatever when its only them and they work out of their parents basement  yeah I haet it when people often call themselves "we" when they are like 12 year old beginners ha

As for the designe :sigh:, its very boring & plain & your text isnt sharp either. The typography can use work, the shapes are sort of sci-fi.
Theres just not much to comment on & not very "firm-ish"

 well the design is pretty bland... but right off the bat i'd definately get rid of the aspac cause it pretty much sounds like as*pack might sound nice to others... but I'd stay away from you for sure :P ;)

Kind of like bad vector traces, cliched colours and vector drips eh? ;)
Old trend actually.
The whole 'futuristic' angled thing on sites never (or very rarely) looked good, and the page needs much more content before we can pick it apart some more... back to el drawing boardo methinks?

I love it when everyone bands together and beats up on the "12-year-old beginners" instead of encouraging them to improve their designs or doing a proper C&C.
Ironic, the one's who come out look more unprofessional in these types of threads...

Keep working hard man, it's looking good.

the design is not good. i kinda like that gradient in the bottom but i hate the nav and the way everyhting is layed out. just try and create something that is original, funky, fresh and clean. somethign with vibrant colours, well thought out designs and easy to use. sometimes simpler is better.

It's posted in the C and C and that is what is happening :) - no one has anything against anyone- just the stuff that they are putting out. You need to learn before you get good :)

Is this the old "less is more" paradigm in action?

You guys are so mean... lol...
Actually though the design is rather lacking but the Neudrift logo looks good. It seems it would work better with an expansive light colored theme. Tropicalish and vectorish.

There is nothing wrong with that. When I joined the company I work with, there was only 3 of us. We worked in someone's dining room for 4 months because the money for commercial space you use to re-invest in the company. At that stage AOL and Yahoo were amongst our client list. If the quality is there you can work out of a toilet.
I dont mean to bash you fasterthanlight, just pointing out that we all have to start somewhere :)
As for the design, I quite liked the overall look and feel as a first pass. But everyone is right that you should spend time developing it in order to get a proper critique

 Thanks for waking me up today with a good joke.
I'd do some more work and development on your site before you come to us again. RIght now, it seems like it was whipped together in 15 minutes at midnight while partially drunk (hence all the gradients). I think you might be able to go somewhere with it, but it would be really hard. And I don't really like that style with all those gradients.

I think ya missed the fact that he said one person :) You started with 3 yeah? :P - you can call yaself "we" but a single person can't (unless they are gollum/smeagol i guess..)

Exactly what I was saying, how can you claim you're starting a firm &/or company if you're one guy with a not even half-done site?

August 15th, 2006, 06:52 PM
It doesn't even matter. People don't post here to get blasted by multiple people regarding whether they are or aren't starting a studio/company, they post here to get C&C. Either provide it, or move on.
There's a word that sums up a lot of people here now, unfortunately. It starts with a d and ends in ouchebag.

ASPAC???? auto reminds me of A Spack which iver here means retard not sure if you americans use the word ;) too much blank space and such, if you go for the sci-fi theme dont underdo it, go all out with wires and tanks with weird creatures in it ;)

Yes, I agree. You should have right to publically question his business plans and professionalism in a forum where someone posts for C&C on a design. :sigh:
And even when you do talk about his design, you have every right to call his work boring and plain while giving him no tips on how to remedy this, other than "working on his typography" (could you be any more vague?).
There's a difference between having the right to do something, and doing what's right. Do I think he should call his "company" a "studio" or "firm"? Absolutely not. However, I'm not going to publically beat up on him, especially when there are already other people doing it. Grow up.

Ummm, PunK, "Gangsta Talk" + Cursing + kForum = You Getting Banned. With the "Firm" and "Studios" thing, can you call it a "Studios" if there are like 3 or 4 people in it? Or do you need more? And I like tropical feeling logo's they're nice and refreshing and make me want to get a glass of ice cold orange juice and put in a little grapefruit juice in it to give it a little kick. Ohhhh, that is so good.

Where did I curse and/or "Gangsta Talk" anywhere in the post of mine? Please don't talk to me like I did something wrong when I clearly did not, especially when just having fun with a close family friend.

When we opened our company (www.thegoodness.com.au) (http://www.thegoodness.com.au%29), we called ourselves a firm/company right from the word go, and we were working in our living rooms for the first 6 months. Now we have a studio and eight employees. You've got to think big from the beginning. No one in real life cares where you're working from, as long as you're producing good work. And that's because the people you'll most likely be dealing with started from their living rooms too.
Do you need $20,000 savings to set up a 'proper' studio in order to be respected? Of course not!
Oh, and by the way - in the beginning it was just my business partner - just the one of him.

good post... we all act weird sometimes in this section of the forum... normally im a helpful, constructive critic but sometimes i start bashing and pwning or just write useless unrelated crap and cant tell why... maybe its this time of the year... just today called some poor guys site crap and didnt explain why or what to change... in return he went and checked my site and returned the favor...
