spinning metallic disc

hello, i'm trying to animate a 2-dimensional, flat, spinning metallic circle quite similar to a record. I can picture it in my mind but i'm not sure how to recreate it realistically. Any input on this would be great.

Heres a quick cartoony way:

Get black circle, get rid of middle then draw grey lines around it, in a circular way on the black, then on an above layer put a white line (quite thick) above one part of the black disc, set it to low opacity, play around but about 60% should do, then rotate the the black disc layer(the grey bit should be on same layer) but dont spin the white low opacity layer this is the lighting :D, hope that helps.

EDIT// Just read your post, it didnt mention which program, you can probs do that my way in any program but I had flash 8 in mind.

yeah, it's flash 8 i'm using. I'l try out what you said although i didn't fully understand. I know what you mean about the white line (like the reflection in sunglasses?) but i didn't really undertand the grey lines.
