Does anyone know if you can take the flash XML socket and a coldfusion Socket gateway to make a homemade IM/chat service?

I don't know about xml, but i'm currently workin on an IM service and am creating my own language for it. It's nothing fancy, but it'll be easier to use than xml.

I guess its based on something else just with a few mods, how is it going and is it foing to be able to run MSN or just your thing?

it would be just to run my own local chat for my local site i've built. I dont know about making my own language as that would definaly be above my skill level. I hear that using jabber cost a nice pile of cash!!! any truth?
