Whats the Point? Loading ......

Ok Im very new to flash.

Basically ive touched it a little here and ther but never really made anything.

Im strarting to go though tutorials and learn more since i want to ditch my html and build a bad ***** flash site.

My questions are
What is the point of a Loading screen?
How do you make one?
Is it an accurate assumption of how long it takes the site to load?

The point of having a loading screen or loading bar is so that the visitor doesn't sit there and stare at a blank screen while you're site is loading.

If done correctly, the preloader should be fairly accurate. Here's a tutorial on how to make one.

Thanks for the help. I just walked though the tutorial and it not that hard at all.

My question is now that i have this loader bar created how do i make that work with an animation or something i have already created?

or how do i create something new with this on the front. I am very new to flash and appreciate any help.
