Alright, wicked, so I'm really excited right now! I just released my "been-in-the-works-forever" Portfolio site!

Tell me what you all think? I'm looking for advanced critiques on the layout and design aspects themselves.

*Only the Desktop Wallpaper and Website design sections within my portfolio are polished products*

The things I still have yet to do are:

Final HTML & CSS validation, what I have now is 100% valid however.
Adding relevant META tags
Filling Canvas, T-Shirt, Logo and Flyer design sections within Portfolio with relevant content.
Creating a printable version CSS file
Adding my resumés
Adding a "Back to Top" button in my bottom nav
Adding some misc. links within my footer
Creating "View Project" image buttons for portfolio sectionAny suggestions on how to jazz up the Vision and Mission text areas a bit would be appreciated.

However I feel what I have now is 90% done... the rest is just filling in some blanks within the portfolio page. Anyways, Enjoy!!!!!

Dude that shut is HOT :s:

I am feeling it, great mixture between the glass, reflection, and graffity look TREMENDO!

One thing I was kind of having trouble with was the menu, I was getting lost, otherwise, let the force be with your site lol jaj (-:

Hmnnn I like the look and the feel... it's nice. But I absolutely hate that flippin font you're using for your nav, headers all through-out. I think I've mentioned that before back in one of your "wallpaper" threads or something. And more over the navigation get extremely lost... i'd give it an 7 / 10

The design is top notch Faster! :thumb: Yet, the nav took me forever to actually see it, as Simp mentioned it gost fairly lost in the kewl art. I didn't see it till I clicked the bottom nav buttons and then the next section loaded ... Might make the rollovers a bit more noticeable. As far as structure of the site, it all works except for the portfolio section buttons seemed to have a hard time showing up correctly ... I'm using IE 6 ... takes awhile to load all the images initially too. Don't let this critique deter you though, it still looks amazing! Maybe to spice it up a bit, not that you need to, but with the top of the site you could do some flash work?

yeah the nav is defnilty to hard to see. also when im viewing the portfolio your buttons are shifted about 20 pixels to the right so they are not in the layout.. they go into the background. and although i dont really like how the site is so skinny, it looks ok in this case. im not really a big fan of the pink either but thats just me. i like the contrast and the depth feel to it. but on the header i would lose the sun burst and have just the background so it feels like its kinda floating abit.

good work though. you should make a flash version aswell to compliment it.

nice site. great design.

i agree with simplistik about the fonts for the navigation and the headers. they get really lost because they look more like graphical elements than they do directional elements.

the eye is attracted to them but it doesn't know what it's looking at.

THanks everyone for the comments, a couple things i should address:

The font I use for the headers and what not (the swoopy one), right now I don't want to tchange it only because theres about 40 images I would have to re-slice and save for web..... The deadline for this site was today (Part of one of my school classes) so perhaps one day, not necessarily anytime soon i will look into changing the font.

As for the main navigation, I am completely 100% open for suggestions on how to increase the visibility of the text over the flowers. As well as the header text contrast over the splatters which haam mentioned.

I will work on debugging the portfolio button section, I own a Mac, and it works in my browsers so I have to mission up to the college and test it on the pcs there which I'll do in about half an hour.

Another thing about the menu, I tried to keep the overall site really easy to use, there is only one level of sub pages (within the portfolio section) so i don't know if i'm going to add breadcrumbs as you can just click one of the main navigation buttons to go one level back.

I guess thats all i got for now, I gotta go up to the school for classes and meetings... later!

Holy hell, you're cheap. Raise your prices.

Anyhow. That's an awesome page, it looks great. I unfortuantely agree about the header / nav, it needs a bit of work. I think it would be nice if the user didn't have to scroll down to figure out what the page was about - I was a little confused at first. Also, you know that all the .jpg links are broken, right?

Awesome page. I really like it. :D

The colors are pretty cool and vivid. The structure is rather nice as well. But the font choice and navigation is terrible. And the sub nav stuff is worse. Kinda looks like you took time through out then rushed right at the end. All in all I would say the design and colors saved you. But over all the fine details kill it.

I still can't find the navigation?

EDIT: NVR mind, I had to clear my cache.

Method Not Allowed
The requested method POST is not allowed for the URL /contact.htm

That's what I get when I test the contact page.

@ anogar: As far as I know all the pages besides the home pages have suitable headers, the index is different because i wanted to have the "3265 Clothing Coming Soon" prominent because earlier when we were promoting the clothing we didnt have its own site so we told people to check febstars... I wanted something up there and prominent so people know 3265 just didnt disappear.

...and the prices are just place holders right now, I'm working on engineering a pricing scheme to benefit both me and the client.

And yes, as of right now only the desktop wallpapers have working links, still need to upload all of my actual work into the portfolio, but I mentioned that in my first post

Oh and the contact page hasnt been php-ified yet... it does nothing at this point in time.

@DDD: Unfortunately thats exactly what happened, deadlines are deadlines, I am definately going to re-engineer my sub page navigation into something more consistent, easy to use and pretty looking.

I also fixed the portfolio page and how it was rendering, I had position:absolute; the Graffical and Online/Web divs but didn't give them top and left co-ordinates. But now they have them so it should be allllllllllll gravy

One last thing i should mention is that I don't want to sound like an arse but a lot of you are commenting on what doesnt look good, but you don't give any suggestions on how I can graphically improve anything....

At this point I've exhausted my brain and everything looks good in my eyes... So i dunno, Suggestions on how to exactly improve anything would be appreciated

Thanks!

I really really love the graphic art you have on the site, but the site itself looks pretty cluttered. It is really hard to focus on the content of the site.

good job, i like this much better than all the revisions before it (they were all very generic web2.0).

that graffiti text is hard to read, but is a nice visual element.

very simple, but very pretty. with rates like that i'm sure you'll get business.

@simplistik: I'm studying web development in school... one of my classes is E-portfolio, this is the "Final Project" Had to have stuff done for meetings with my program coordinator.

@freeskier: I think your confusing the clutter of the site with the colour explosion in my header. Head on into my desktop wallpaper subsection in portfolio, scroll down, and look through the content, I cant see how the content is cluttered?

@willodarkenraerdfa: thanks, though i considered it a swoopy fancy type font, but now that you mention it......

Ok so I guess added to my official to-do list:

- Contact page working (Going to start right now)
- Re-engineering the top of the home page right beneath the navigation?
Perhaps adding a "Welcome to...." content chunk to make it look more homey?
- Definate re-working of the sub nav in portfolio
