Hi,

Basically right now, i m helping my guild to create our guild webby

don't know why , how on earth can i start with.. cos i have been re-do the webby like alot of times, which i always not very much satisfy my work.

compare to the site i went, i see mine like kinda way too off..

wanna to ask, how do u guys create nice borders or even nice buttons. cos i can see tat my overall site is not very appealing each time i make a fresh start on the site.

i can make it simple enough for it, understanding tat simple site give u a simple look which if i go wrong, i wont go that deep wrong.. hahaha, hope u guys know what i meant.

SAVE ME ~ !

 well I think I understand. But basically it's just like any other type of design... learn. Either formal learning, make it up yourself, or grab inspiration off other sites.

Start with this: Plan your design on paper, design it in Photoshop, then slice it up and code it.

or if your like me. just start making it in photosohp. i never design things on paper first just because thats how i am. i dont like using instructions ever. if i have to use a plan for something i'll usualy make my own...

Slice it and code it ??? meaning ??

dont really get you .

do you guys have any site tat teach you how to do borders... at least an average looking border...

cos i realise borders seems to organize ur site, make it more concentrated .

:trout:i dont think this user will understand.

you need to learn basic design, go to a store and buy a book on basic web design, you can't just plug and chug for a good layout.

design+code to make design work=webby
so first you design your layout, then you use languages like html or CSS or whatever or just dreamweaver to code the layout and make it work.
so if you think you dont understand what i am talking about, then quickly run down to your local book store and buy hte webdesign for dummies book.

i found a perfect quote
"explaining a concept to an artist is like banging your head against the wall" - Footsie's footer

scripting in photoshop is totally different. you have to make html or other code, either hard coded or using a visual editor, like dreamweaver:)
good luck;)
