XP, sending emails

does anyone know if you can actually send emails with XP pro. Not to just someone on the local network I'm talking from my host machine to say and Yahoo.com or hotmail.com address. I have a project and I'd prefer to host it myself, and I need to be able to send emails from my hosting machine. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN!!! I'm running XP pro and Coldfusion if that helps

i don't think so...

you might try installing PHP. Then...technically...you can send an e-mail from anyone to anyone...(not a smart idea though)

without physically having a mailserver i would suggest not attempting the feat...
