Happy Tuesday to all.
I don't want this to seem like a double posting, but I'm also looking for someone to develop a logo for me.
A great reference would be the Boondocks (becuase I'm black). Another reference would be the Gorillaz (because I'm tall and lanky), that's the style I'm looking for except instead of four, it would just be one.
Most poses/postioning would be just like the above: straight chillin'. Looking like you stole something: sly. A slight look of attitude. And I should note the character is pretty easy as it will be me and I always wear a bucket hat; it doesn't have to be exact also, just a representation.
Maybe some action moves later if things work out.
Here are the specs:
The music genre is mainly hip-hop, but also spins Trance, Breakbeat, etc.
I'm looking for two parts to the logo. The first being the actual character drawing.
The second is two part being the DJ name and some type of icon. This would have to be done a bit different. I prefer something a big more structured. Such as the Nike swoosh and the actual Nike text. Other examples would be:
Ecko Karl Kani Drunken Munkey ESDJCO
The icon would have some DJ reference, a turntable would be the best. I think you get the point.
I want to be able to use them altogether or independently of each other depending on the circumstance.
CONS:
I will request your very best effort. I'm very time and detailed oriented. If you are prone to being late...please abstain from replying. I'm on a very tight budget. I'm in graduate school so I'm limited on what I can pay. This DJ gig will pay depending on the door and the more clubs I can pick up. So again, I'm on a budget.
BENEFITS:
Cash for you. Good possiblility of long-term work if everything works out as I would need the character in different clothing, positions, flyers, etc. Great exposure in the club, on flyers and on the web.
Please respond to this post or email me a link to your work and what you would charge NLT 2007-08-06. I know it seems like a lot of effort on your part, but that's why I'm here instead of at the firms that charge more money that I have in the bank...and in my couch...and in my pocket.

I should also note that the minimum paid will be ($100) since I do know that I can get a character and text done similiar locally - they just don't have any creativity - maybe 'cause most are middle aged white collar designers or maybe 'cause I'm in Kansas.
