View Full Version : My own MySpace now has a REAL design. (yes, it's a real layout)

I've been on myspace only for a week or two, and have become horribly digusted with the default layout design and all the free ones out there. They just, in plain English, are terrible. So I went ahaid and made my own. I thought people would like it more, and wouldn't mind staying for more than a few minutes. Visitors really like it and so do my friends. So here it is:

The boxes blend a bit too far into the background. Some contrast perhaps?

kinda cool but myspace is lame. thers not much to the design realy. just some gradients, boxes and some junk behind the words. try and add some more contrast to the design.

Thanks for the comments. .harish, when I attempted contrasting tables, it looked way too blocky. I was trying to avoid all symptoms of myspacyndrome. :sure:

hybrid, thanks for the complement. :)

And for anyone else, I am using myspace to communicate w/ friends, not to post blogs or w/e. And designing a MySpace is harder than anyone would expect. Well, IMO. Getting IE and FF to agree upon CSS styles is a trial + error as well. Ah well, an attempt on my part. Atleast it didn't take up very much of my time.

It's a little like saying on a Photoshop forum, "Look what I made in MS Paint!". Everyone might be like, well, sure, that's okay for MS Paint, but... I think a lot of us are having a similar reaction. :puzzle:

Maybe you can round the edges and then contrast it. Less blocky?

It's a little like saying on a Photoshop forum, "Look what I made in MS Paint!". Everyone might be like, well, sure, that's okay for MS Paint, but... I think a lot of us are having a similar reaction. :puzzle:

this isnt a photoshop forum really:h: its more of a flash resource forum.

Some people may not be able to view MySpace because of protective filters. And, I don't want everyone to know every little thing about me, it's mainly for fun and friends. :)

hmmmm, you should post the link and let people decide that for themselves no? Privacy is non-existent on the Internet dude, esp if you post it in the Babylon of the web that is mySpace.

I guess it's alright for a myspace. Some of the REALLY custom ones go beyond that though. I wouldn't really call that a "layout," it's more of a recolor....
The boxes are still laid out the same way they always are.

ha i bet we could find the link no problem. There's way more than enough info on that screen shot to find him haha.

I like it, maybe less of a true blue though? The colors seem kind of too strong.

totally redesigned. I used flash because it was faster and easier to work with. I made it a relatively similar layout, so people dont get confused.
