AlexRedko.com (http://alexredko.com)
I just want to know if the website looks good so far. The portfolio, tutorials, and extras page isn't completed yet, and there's really nothing in the home page atm.
What are your thoughts on the design/layout?
Also, I can't think of anything to put in my home page. Any ideas?
Thanks.

nice but you really need to sectionalize (its fun to make up words) the text portion of the page. Add some titles and layout to the content area.
//edit, to your comment below http://www.alexredko.com/about/ is what i was referring to. There is no real layout to your text and sections.

Content area? If in the home page, I want to show current tutorials and events. But what's the best way of implimenting all of that into the design?
//edit, oh, okay. I'll add in some titles, etc.
//edit2, done. I've just added some little text to it.

reminds me alot of the kirupa home page. with the nav on the left and at the top with the search function up there too. i dont particularly like the site because it feels very static and boring.

It's pretty good. :thumb: It's really not unique though, and fairly forgettable. You might want to add some distinguishing elements.

I wanted to keep everything very simple, and I'm just going to have lots and lots of tutorials, so that's going to make my site stand out a bit.

That will certainly help. There are really not many tutorial pages around with good, easy to navigate formats.

I'm just going to keep the website very simple, and just let the layout be minimalistic and easy to use.

So what are your ideas for this? Should I focus more on the design, or just let the content do all the talking?

get the best of both worlds. make or get someone to make a nice design and then you do all the content

Looks exactly like Kirupa.com
"AlexRedko" on the top should not stray in the middle-right of the banner, it should be aligned on one side.

Good point with the logo in the banner NANO3. Definitely need to "sectionalize" the About portion (Good word Templarian!). And your homepage needs more personality, escpecially the HTML side menu. Maybe add some nicer rollOvers and rollOuts to your Flash banner's menu. Besides that, good work. :)
